Yes, I have been watching wayyy too much tv. Anyway, I saw a sleep number bed commercial with a pregnant woman and her husband in the bed. He was having sympathy food cravings and gained a belly too. Anyway, she said something about the weight coming off when she starts nursing..it was cute, and rare.

Love the commercial, but hate the bed. We bought one and hated it. We ended up being out $200 for shipping. It was just an expensive air mattress. It sucked. No offence to anyone who has one. From what I have learned, the people who like it, really like it, and the people who hate it, really hate it. No gray area. Anyway, I know I got OT, but I do love the AD.

ot, but kathryn, you just need to get one of those cheapo tempur-pedic ripoff mattress pads to put on top (i think that combo is commercially out there as 'the nautilus sleep system', but muy pricey.) and getting the select comfort during the half-off promos around octoberish is a good way to make it affordable.

we have two & wouldn't do without.

how come i don't get to see this ad? lol, i need to watch more tv.

We returned the bed and we're going to get the actual Nasa Tempur-Pedic system next year. We just couldn't justify paying over $1000 for a uncomfortable air mattress. We are huge snugglers and that stupid foam peice in the middle drove us crazy.
Just not our cup of tea.

make sure you try the tp out at sharper image or someplace first; that was my first choice, & it was way too squishy (and retained heat.) the ripoff one is the exact same foam, but on top of the adjustability of the sc (to give it more firmness) it works well.

my dh snores so has his own i don't notice the middle (neither do the babes. could be the pillowtop with 3 inches of foam & a super thick cotton mattress pad on top, lol.) not trying to convince you of anything, sounds like you made up your mind; but it really is a great mattress, if anyone else is looking (and of course, for cosleeping with infants, being able to firm it up is a necessity.)

i've slept on a plain air mattress. trust me & my bad back, it is not the same.

That may be the difference. We didn't get the pillow top one. We just got the bottom of the line normal one because we don't like pillow tops. What made me mad about it though was the fact that when I called to return it I talked to the customer service and they told me everything I didn't like about it wouldn't be there if I had paid the extra for the pillow top. I just didn't see why I should've had to pay extra to get a decent bed. If the one we bought was so annoying, why are they even selling it? Just a rant I guess. Both mine and my husbands backs hurt so bad after sleeping on it, we returned it before the 30 day trial was even up. I guess if we had taken the customer service's advice and went and paid extra to "fix" our bed, that wouldn't have happend.

Check out ebay first. I've bought two memory foam mattresses from seller foambymail. They are awesome and soooo much cheaper!
