Posterior Baby and severe pelvic pain - Page 2

As mwherbs already suggested, get a belly support girdle or band NOW!

Of course, I cannot see you, but, you being pregnant with your sixth your muscle tone is not what it used to be. A belly support will encourage the baby to turn and keep the head from pressing on your pubic bone, and help lift and guide the baby's head into your pelvis. The very least it will do is give you relief from the pain. Keep seeing your chiro as well.

Ekblad, my last babe was posterior in early labor (he'd been anterior up until then... back on my left) and my m/w instructe me over the phone to get onto all fours, and during contractions, lift my upper body up and push back on my heels with my butt, squeezing myself around my belly. I went onto the couch on all fours, with a pillow under my chest against the arm of the couch, and when a cntrx hit I had my upper body leaning onto the arm, and pressed down on my heels w/ my butt like she said, and also got upright (standing) between cntrx. Babe turned in about 3-4 cntrx.

I went on to have a 3 hour nap, waking lightly during cntrx that were no longer painful, and then had the babe UC later that day.

The back labor from when babe was posterior was HORRIBLE (I was up in tears most of the night) and when babe spun, it was fabulous. For the record, when he did spin, it was so his back was on my right, which was the opposite of how he'd been for months. I don't know why he didn't to be in that position, but I'm thinking he had to go posterior to spin around to the right side??? Anyway, labor and birth was amazing.
