Well, it was not easy. I had him at home as planned. My water broke around 8:30 pm, yesturday(thursday). So things progressed fast. Pure pain until 10:46 am today when he was born.
After each painful contraction I got a minute or 30 seconds of relief. I wasnt able to push until around 7:00 am. Around this time I got in the pool. Prior to this the pool was filled. My cat slipped in and punctured two holes. Which had to be patched up after all water was removed with buckets and pool deinflated to patch up holes. My mom was livid. I did not birth in the water because my cervical lip would not budge. I had to get out and have the midwife hold it back while I pushed. I delivered him on all fours on the bed. I tries every position squatting, laying up agianst his father and pushing. Honestly, the birth was like hell, l felt like getting hit in the head with a frying pan. if I was in the hospital I would have given up. Give me a dam epi. A lot of times I just sat on the toilet, or sat down in the shower. Laying down was just uncomfortable.
It took him forever to breathe the midwives were scared as hell. His heart beat was great, because they did not cut the cord. They dont do it until the cord stops pulsating and all nutrients are in the baby. So that kept him alive in the mean time. The tried everything then, she told my mate this child is in another dimension talk to him. Once he talked to him he finally breathed. The placenta is in my fridge. I will plant in under a tree giving it back tyo mother earth for nurturing my baby 9 months, and keeping him alive upon birth.
I havent slept since 6:30 am Thurs. He is sleep now. All he wants to do is be on my breast. Maybe I can get some snooze.
Sorry this is all over the place I was in a rush. He weighed 7lb s 10 oz. I think, the midwife wrote it down somewhere.
Good luck to all the home birthers!
