Hi Moms (and Dads)! I just want to send out my deepest gratitude to you MDC Mamas and Dads. I don't remember how I discovered MDC sometime in my post-birth-hazy-months. But over the past 2 years I have learned so much and have been comforted by the wisdom and intelligence voiced by you all. I have rarely posted (never even officially introduced myself) but whenever I have had a free moment I have read MDC.
I left an incredibly satisfying life in Austin, TX to move to far north Germany to marry wonderful German DH. Having a child with no support system in a foreign place has had its challenges. After a rough start with some bumps along the way, DD and I have now been nursing for 2 years! She turned 2 yesterday! I just wanted to share this milestone with you Mamas who I think can appreciate how happy this makes me. Our nursing experience has been blissful, peaceful, (oh, yeah...painful...errghh for me, at first...how nice to forget that part) incredibly tender and now in the toddler-time, wonderfully humourous, at times. I have no support over here (other than DH)....no one would imagine that we would STILL be nursing (!)...the norm here is to stop at the latest at 6 months(!). In any case, I had my private happy thoughts yesterday and just wanted to send out my thanks to ya'll out there. It is comforting to know that there are caring people out there.
