we just watched a home video of my DS at 8 mos, singing just like frankenstiens monster in Young Frankenstien! he used to do it all the time, it was awesome i agree that movie is an all time great.

ive seen some of the other ones, but not many! so i made a big huge list for DH to take to the video store tonight ( for him to choose from, that is) . i am not a movie person so much ( i love watching , but given 2 hours to watch movies or read or get on MDC movies fall by the wayside...)

thank you so much you guys, and do keep it coming if you have more ideas. i am going to try this as a sort of therapy...gets my mind off of how weird i feel AND makes me laugh, and i really beleive happiness heals.

thank you thank you thank you!

Stuck On You...I laughed really hard during this movie. I just love Greg Kinnear.

Great lists! I don't think I saw these:

A Fish Called Wanda: screwball comedy. John Cleese, Sigourney Weaver, Keven Kline. SOoo funny!

2 great Steve Martin movies:
The Jerk: a classic. Martin, raised in a poor, black family in the south, goes out into the world to make his fortune.
Goldmember: Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy. Martin is a struggling movie producer. Murphy is in a duel role as a movie star under the control of a questionable, Scientology-type group ("Mindhead") and as his own long lost and hapless twin. This is the last funny thing I saw from Eddie Murphy. Oh, and DH exp. likes this one because Heather Graham is in it.

HTH!

Um, did no one mention The Princess Bride? (Not only is it funny, but it's got adventure and romance and... well, everything!)

I also pretty much die laughing whenever I watch South Park. The movie was OK, but the show is just fall-off-the-sofa funny sometimes. (Literally, I almost fell off the sofa watching it last week. OMG. Sometimes my mouth just hangs open the entire time and I am *shocked* that they can do that on TV. I love it!)

Also, I heard Garden State was funny. Haven't seen it yet, but I love Scrubs, and it has the lead actor from that show (who also directed).

Anchorman, the Legend of Ron Burgundy was much funnier than I expected it would be.

Funny movies are the perfect antidote to the winter blahs!

So many good titles already.

I have to add Sweet and Lowdown. This crac ks me up every time I think about it. When Sean Penn as Emmet Ray a jazz guitarist comes down from the ceiling on a moon, drunk, I just lose it. It's a Woody Allen film.

I'll second Anchor man...as long as you see all of the insane sexism as sort of ironic and mocking, it's a hilarious flick. A fish called wanda, yeah.

"But I'm A Cheerleader" is excellent, tho folks who are not pro-queer might not enjoy it, but it is sooo funny. Great Ru Paul role.

and, the one that gets a laugh everytime it's played in my house is ZOOLANDER!!! It is so stinking funny. I just love it, especially the David Duchovny role; and this is the movie that made me fall for will Farrell.

Ohhhh I am adding a bunch of these to my list at the library!

Oh, How could I forget Zoolander and But I'm a Cheerleader? I LOVE those movies!

Another good one with Natasha Lyonne is Slums of Beverly Hills. Very funny!
