Is Debra Messing Still Nursing?

Last night I caught the arrivals for the SAG awards on E!. Debra Messing is back to her pre-baby xylophone body. I loved her curvy, nursing body, but it's gone now and it was nice to see a celebrity advocate nursing, even if it was just for a few months. Has she stopped nursing? She looks so skinny.

You also have to remember..nursing bodies change. She might be still nursing and just lost some weight.

Anybody else look at that dress and think how easy it would be to nurse in? :LOL

I'm pretty sure she is still nursing. I saw an interview with her last week on Live with Regis & Kelly where she talked about baby signs and how her ds signs "milk" almost every time he sees her. She joked that it was a better way of communicating than lifting her shirt and saying "want some?". This seemed to make Regis quite uncomfortable, but Debra didn't seem to skip a beat. I thought it was so great to see such a public figure talk so frankly about nursing. And she does look great!

How'd she lose the weight so quickly? Tapeworms?

GRRR, such a big pet peeve of mine! So she's skinny, who cares? Maybe she diets, maybe she works out, maybe she lost the weight naturally. I'm a breastfeeding mom and I lost all of my baby weight very quickly. Even now, at 27 weeks pregnant, I only weigh 132lbs, at 5'7". That's a weight gain of 20lbs for me. I don't have ringworm (which is a skin disease, btw) and I am healthy. Maybe she is just meant to be thin. Get over it.

WOW it's refreshing to see so many negative judgements about someone who is constantly in the public eye.

She has ALWAYS been unhealthily(not a word I am sure) skinny looking. Has anyone thought that maybe that is her body type? Yes she has lost most if not all of her baby weight, but why is that such a bad thing? As far as assumeing she is not nursing because of the way she looks... there is no way you can tell if someone is still nursing just by looking at them.

One of the reasons I quit visiting this board. People are just too judgemental and negavite, assuming the worst and judgeing by their first impression instead of what really is.

I read an article that was written about Debra when her DS was 11 months (I think) and he was still nursing. She cut back on excercising and started to eat more because her milk supply was decreasing. She said screw the last 5 pregnancy lbs, her baby was more important.

This thread has taken such a negative turn, it's truely sad.

I am also a nursing mom who is *very* skinny (well not right now...ds is only 7 weeks old :LOL ) Anyway - I get boobs in the very begining, but by about 6-7 months I am pretty much deflated. I nursed DD until she was 2.5 and was back down to my non-existant A cup way before she weaned. I also tend to get 'underweight' when I am nursing - not because I am dieting or excersizing - but nursing just sucks it out of me. I am 5'7 and weight about 117 at my 'normal' weight.....so please, please, please don't assume. Body types are all different, I can't tell you how many times I have heard the same types of comments about *my* body

When my DD turned 10 months old that is when my weight started dropping off all of a sudden.

I wouldn't assume anything based on her body shape. I was back to my prepregnancy weight by 4 mos postpartum, and by 9 mos, I had lost 10 more lbs. I COULD NOT keep weight on, no matter how much I ate. I started at 103 lbs when I got pregnant and was 91 lbs at my lowest weight postpartum. It was not healthy, and I looked terrible, but there was really nothing I could do about it since I was not about to wean ds. I never excercised or dieted once. Maybe Debra Messing is the same way.

I wouldn't assume anything either. I never lost so much weight so easily as I did in the beginning of nursing. I weighted less than I did before I got pregnant and my skinniest as an adult.

Since she was terribly skinny before, it's possible that it is her type and she's now even skinnier.

From what I've heard she's still nursing...and her weight seems pretty par for the course, our bodies adjust to what's going on. She'd always been very, very skinny, and I'm not surprised that she's that way again.

Well, that booby I see under that dress looks like it has plenty of mama milk-trust me, I know...you do not have to have very big boobies to have lotsa milkies!

the same thing happened to me! it's still happening (k is 13.5 months). i'm constantly amazed. i'm down to 131 lb. (5'3") and it keeps coming off no matter what i eat. i told my mother the other day: "i don't get how this happens! i've been eating raw cookie dough! you can't lose weight doing that!" apparently you can if your baby is a mad boobie girl!

As a faithful Will&Grace tivo-er, I have to say this looks like a heck of a lot more boobies than she used to have...

FWIW, I also dropped about 10 pounds or so when DS was 11 mos. old... when people asked me what diet I was on, I said, "Well, I eat about a half-pint of Ben and Jerry's every night, if that's what you mean."
