I agree. She was almost concave in her pre-baby days. She looks unhealthy? Why, because her ribs are visible? I think she looks fine.

And since it hasn't been mentioned, I have to jump in and say that nobody said anything about ringworm.

I think she looks good, and that her breasts look like 'nursies' to me.

I think she looks great. and.. in that picture she has breasts, before she had the baby, she really didn't have almost anything, so she's probably still nursing.

She has ALWAYS been unhealthily(not a word I am sure) skinny looking. Has anyone thought that maybe that is her body type? Yes she has lost most if not all of her baby weight, but why is that such a bad thing? As far as assumeing she is not nursing because of the way she looks... there is no way you can tell if someone is still nursing just by looking at them.
But that's the problem - she has NOT always been unhealthily (sic) thin. She's gotten increasingly more skeletal with each year. I've been a fan of hers since she was on Ned and Stacy, and she did NOT look that way then.

So, obviously that's not her natural state. Hollywood actresses have an enormous amount of pressure on them to be extremely thin. It's just sad is all.

I think it's wonderful that she's still breastfeeding. I wish she remained more curvy because it seems healthier (she had to go on bedrest when she was pregnant because of being so underweight), and I also thought she was more attractive then. But that's sort of the field she's in. This is an industry that calls Kate Winslet "full figured".

While that may be true, before I had my second I weighed 105lbs. After I had her I weighed 98lbs. There was a huge difference in that 7lbs in regards to how I looked. I looked skeletal, but I was still healthy and there was nothing I could do to change how much I weighed or looked.

Yes someone did. Chersolly did, but she edited it after my post to read "Tapeworms".

Just going to add that even if before baby, she was skinny on purpose (I too have watched her for years and seen her decrease in size), she might not be able to help it now. I was 114 pre-pg (I'm 5'5), and that was my highest non pg weight ever, within 10 months I was down to 98 lbs, I couldn't help it, I ate everything in sight and still was losing weight. Now I'm at 102 and still eating everything in sight. I remember 10-11 months being the hardest, I lost 5 lbs in like a week, and I didn't think I had anymore weight to lose!

well according to a well-respected authority (this weeks in touch mag lol) she was on a late night show talking bf and pumping just recently. wouldn't it be great to see her join the CLW roll-call?

I saw her on Leno last week- she was talking abotu pumping and signing to her son.

She was in this week's Us Weekly (or was it In Touch not sure) talking about the fact that it took her 9 months to gain her weight and about 9 months to lose it. She is very clearly not as thin as she was before she was pg. The article showed a pic of her pre-pg she basically had nipples and no BB tissue at all. So as of this week she was still nursing and her baby is about 10 months old. Her comments were very positive about her approach to losing the weight and being careful about what she eats because it's what her son is eating too. I've never been a fan but she won me over. I was very impressed to see an actress putting out such a healthy mindset about losing the weight and making it clear that BFing was more important to her than losing the weight. And she was still pudgy a few months ago so I have to agree with the others that maybe this is just when the last few lbs started coming off. It took about that long for me to get to my pre-pg weight.

Tried to click on the link for the first pic and the photo was gone, so I found another...desperate need to know what people are talking about ...and found this: http://www.eonline.com/Gossip/Fashio...2,1229,00.html

The caption is really ticking me off:

It's official. Debra Messing is hot again! Sure, it took over a year for Will's Gracie to dump that big ol' baby caboose. But with her wild wavy hair, bright pink bejeweled halter gown, multiple bangles and matching pink shoes, Debra's back on track at the SAG Awards. Can we get a steam whistle? Woo-woo!
Thanks, E!, for that truly empowering description of the photo and actress. :

Regarding her thinness...I lost my baby weight very quickly and was actually at 10 lbs below my pre-pg weight by 8 mos post-partum. Eating healthy food in decent quantities, and not exercising a whole lot. While it's possible that her weight reflects her acceptance of an uber-thin beauty/fashion ideal, it's also possible that it's just what her body is doing on its own.

I have to agree that we need to stop assuming!!!

I was back in my clothes 2 days after the birth, and since 1month pp, I have been 110lbs, and I am 5'10, and no, I did not diet!
Dd is still nursing, and my boobs are back to their A-optimistic Bcup.

*sigh* if only we could all remain that ideal weight that makes us look healthy. Unfortunatly that's not the way life works.

Sure she used to have more body fat on her a few years ago, but nobody has the right to assume anything about her. For all we know maybe she has a thyroid problem, maybe she is on medications that keep her from gaining weight. Being skinny does not automatically mean someone is unhealthy. There are plenty of people in the world who look healthy but aren't.

Funshine that caption pissed me off too when I saw it!
