Where can I get bulk wholesale foods on-line?

I used to live in a community that bought bulk and had a big truck deliver it to them. I know they used to use rainbow and cysco, both of which I cannot locate on-line.

We have a natural grocery store that will order the bulk stuff you want and they add 15% on to that. Still it is cheaper than the health food store that discounts you 10% of their retail price.

I am just hoping to start making my own big orders (I think they mostly have a 500$ minimum) and a few of my friends and I could split the order.

Do any of you do this or know where I can find info to start doing this?

sysco is still online .. http://www.sysco.com/

I'm not sure if they only do business accounts or what though? one of my brothers drives a semi for 'em.

You could try doing a quick search for "*locality* food service" on google, maybe?

you can search for 'food coop' and you get a listing of companies and delivery areas. That's how I found mine. Sorry, I've forgotten the direct link.

Are you in Toas? If so, the southwest has a coop called Tuscon Cooperative Warehouse. I know there are buying clubs in Taos.

They have an 800 number you could call and find groups in your area. It is: 1-800-350-2667. I'm a buying club coordinator who is not terribly cooridinated, so I call them alot! The women who answer the phones are SUPER nice and will definatly find out for ya!

I checked out the co-op and was really suprised to see the prices more than our local store. Example would be a jar of baby food in Cids is 59 cents and they had it for 80. Kind of a big difference and then when you add the fuel surcharge and the percantage they add on, it goes up from there.

I am going to check and see if I can get a co-op business liscense for like 25$ and then I can get an account with rainbow and they will deliver directly to me too but for much cheaper.

yay, there's defiantly stuff that is still costing too much. We don't buy very much from them. we do buy tofu, 25# rice, 50# oats, 50# soybeans, spices/herbs, gum... oh, baby's awake, gotta go. Glad you at least checked it out

morningside buyers club has fantastic prices.
Really great!
I can never find their link, but search for it. They order monthly and it is fantastic for pricing!

My MIL gets Schwans things delivered to her door. Not sure if they are in your area or what you are looking for but that's just somewhere else to look.

I think I am actually going to use my husbands tax ID# and get an account with rainbow.
