Prenatals?

Which prenatals is everyone taking?

Just curious. I hate taking them, as they make me sick to my stomach. Blech.

Iron doesn't sit well with my system either, but iron as amino acid chelate/complex works well for me (I tend to be anemic during pregnancy and this does the trick most every time. Once I supplemented with FloraDix w/ iron but if I eat well and take the right prenatals, I usually won't need it)

So, I take Nature's Plus Source of Life Prenatal wiht whole food concentrates. All the usual vitamins and minerals plus things like banana, apricot, apple, alfafa, barley, beet juice, kale, etc. But I also drink VitaMineral Green every day as well as some spirulina (good protein). I drank so much green stuff last pregnancy that we were slightly worried about having a green baby but all turned out well so we are going the same route again.

I've been taking Rainbow Light Just Once Prenatals. They've got ginger juice in them for good mornings and so far, knock on wood, I feel ok.

I am taking the generic version by Stuart Prenatals that I got at my grocery store. I am waiting to see if my midwife wants me to take a different brand.

Last pregnancy I couldnt tolerate any iron in a prenatal at all.

I took prenatals with no iron from GNC, and I got a liquid iron supplement, which sat just fine on my tummy. Not sure why that worked, but its a suggestion.

My doctor precribed some last month when I went in about a sinus infection. Sleeping nursling on my lap right now or I'd check specifics I take them at night to avoid nausea which can be awful with the iron. Used to avoid them because of the iron but then I got pregnancy induced anemia last time and ugh! I have never been so bone weary exhausted in my life. I am doing all I can to avoid that this time. :

New Chapter Perfect Prenatals. They don't bother my stomach at all and I don't get electric orange urine

Target Brand All the prescription ones in the past aggravated the nausea!

Spring Valley brand from WalMart. I REALLY want some from Wild Oats but they are SOOOOOOOO $$$$$$$$$!!!

I take the Rainbow Light Just Once Prenatal Vitamins too. I've never had a problem with keeping them down. My doc also recommended taking Ecological Formula's lactoferrin capsules with them to help my body absorb the extra iron.

The dr gave me a prescription a couple of months ago for Natale (I think that is how it is spelled). I take them with my dinner and they have not bothered my stomach at all - and I have a very sensitive stomach. Although as someone mentioned, they do give me flourescent yellow pee for the evening, and the prescription is not covered by my insurance so they are costing me a bundle.

New Chapter for me, too. I like 'em.

I tried some prescription prenatals on the advice of my gyno before we were pregnant -- they made me break out in itchy hives all over my body. I ended up giving the rest to my mom who loved them, said they made her hair and nails beautiful.

Hi! I'm taking New Chapter, Perfect prenatal too! I was soooooo happy to find them. They are all whole food based, so they are easy to digest and they have probiotics! They also do not have vit A, which I was really happy to find, I eat plenty of vit A rich food and get way over the recommend amount as it is. I love them

rainbow light here.....I used to take the generic/store brand prenatals with my first pregnancy....can't beat the price...but, I found the rainbow light just once at iherb.com for 17 bucks, free shipping! i got 2 bottles for less than 1 at the store. thats less than $5 a month, I can swing that

until I got those I was taking childrens chewables (dd decided they were 'icky' after trying one and I already bought the whole bottle from the health food store you should really be able to try one of those BEFORE you buy) and a folic acid....some cod liver oil, too, and probiotics (of course ) and about 2,000 vit c...sometimes more if someone around me is sick.

not sure how much longer I can choke down all those pills!

I really like the Rainbow Light Just once ones as well, but I am not taking them yet. Unfortuantely when I went to the store for them I wasn't paying close enough attention and got the original rainbow lights, which require you to take SIX large pills a day. They don't upset my stomach too badly if taken with food but who wants to take six pills a day? They were expensive too so I am suffereing through them. I read the labels and they seem like excellent vitamins.

I'm not taking them-- they're making me too sick. I'm taking folic acid and B6, and a multi as I'm able. I also take Floradix.
