What food would you provide for birth attendants?

Part of my supply list is 'food for birth attendents', there will be 3 plus dh, ds and myself.

Any suggestions for easy, healthy stuff I can either buy or prepare before hand?

I know I want to have lots of fresh fruit and veggies on hand and am making juice to freeze in ice cube trays for during labor. Other than that I'm kind of at a loss.

We are 40 minutes from a store so we really need to have stuff here - someone can't just run out and fetch something.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Could you buy some hard cheeses ahead of time, and then slice them in early labor, to put out with some crackers or bread?

I know we were thinking of getting a deli tray of some kind, but if you can't go fetch something, maybe there's a way to set something up like it at home.

Other thoughts... could you make a big batch of soup ahead of time and freeze it? Vegetable or a stew or something, and then it'd just have to be heated back up.

Maybe not *the* most nutritious thing, but granola bars or cereal bars of some kind?

I'm having a little trouble with this too... my big thing is that I'm sensitive to smells, so everything has to be very inoffensive!

Hmmmm, the soup idea is a good one. A nice veggie broth sounds so nourishing! And the cheese-cracker thing, too.

Boy, the smell sensitivity must make things difficult.

Thanks for the ideas.

I think you should ask them what they want! They will be able to tell you what they think is good and what they prefer.

Also a package of brownie mix wouldn't be a bad idea!
