Need a homeschooling kindgergarten-preK plan...

Hi everyone,

Dd is 3 1/2 and I'd like a better pre-K, K daily routine with her. Any suggestions? Dd knows her numbers though 30 and knows her abc's and shapes. Right now she wants to put words together to see what words they make. I'm looking for a more formal program I guess to fit into our routine.

TIA!

For reading we are using www.headsprout.com It is kind of pricey though but my son loves it.
For math I just buy workbooks at Walmart or Target.

I don't do anything "formal" until age 4. Even then, the only curriculum book I use is Handwriting Without Tears. Other than that, we just play and do daily learning.

I am using Frontline Phonics with my 2 year old. She loves it, but knew all of her letter sounds before we started, so we started right away with the blending sections. The lessons are quick and very interactive. No pressure, just fun. The plan is all laid out for you, so you don't have to do a lot of preparation. As a special education teacher (now SAHM with plans to homeschool ), I think it is a good program for the young ones.

Good luck!

Abi is doing Calvert Kindergarten and it's about at that level with the ABC's. Abi is a bit ahead of all that, but they spend the first 60 lessons (out of 150) on learning the sounds that the letters make, how to recognize them, how to write them. The last half of the school "year" introduces phonic and early reading. Calvert is complete package that has math, science, music, art, and reading.

I have no other suggestions because I'm very new to homeschooling.
