Hello,

I decided that since it is Tuesday, it was time to start the new thread. Things are very good here. We are finding that Will is sleeping pretty good at night, most nights. We have only had one or 2 crying nights. However, if he has to have a diaper change in the middle of the night, he decides that it is time to play, so we try to avoid that if possible. I can tell that his heart is getting a little worse. Not enough to take him in, but something to watch. It is taking him longer to eat, and he is pulling off the breast more. I am going to finish the nursing necklace and see if he is just distracted, by my mama's intuition tells me that's not it. We knew that it would happen though, so no surprises there. If it gets worse, we'll have to take him in.

My birthday went well, for the most part. Mom picked me up early, and off we went. They had an Ann Taylor Factory Store, so I was able to pick up a new outfit there for pretty cheap. However, DH was a bit of a jerk that night. He and a good friend of ours were really into teasing me, but DH couldn't catch a clue that he was going to far. Then when I called him on it, he got super defensive and was pissed off, so we went to bed mad. Then the next morning, I found out that I had gotten distracted by him and our arguement, and left my expressed milk (14 freaking ounces!) on the counter overnight, and had to toss it. I was so pissed about that. I am now pumping after each nursing session to make up for that. DH felt so bad the next morning, and was super apologetic, but still, 14 ounces down the drain!

Well, I have my follow-up OB appointment today, and I have some touch-up painting to do, so I better get going! Have a good day. Hope we hear from Jessi soon.

Nicole- sorry to hear that you feel like Will's heart is worsening.... but you follow your mama instincts- no one knows him better than you!!!!
also happy belated bday.... sorry your dh was being so lame!!

nothing new here.... gotta take my car in this am for service, then a friend is coming over and bringing lunch.
It's Luka's 2 week birthday. feels like it's been forever!
Happy 2 weeks Luka! And Happy 2 weeks Karen! We celebrated our 2 week (and our one week, for that matter; we may celebrate every damn thursday forever!), brownies and soy dream (fudge vanilla).

Nicole - I'm sorry too about the milk, about going to bed mad (I HATE that), and about the ruination of what might have been a very relaxing, nice day. Drag. I'm glad you got to get out and do some grown up-y stuff, though. And I'm REALLY sorry that your instincts are telling you that things with Will's heart are not getting any better, but are worse. I'm glad you are not surprised by it, but still it is beyond disapointing. I'm super sorry for the little guy. He really sounds like such a great kid so far! What a hard thing for him to have to climb uphill from. You are SUCH a great mommy for being in tune with his body and needs.

things here are a little crazy but good. Ori is sleeping well and eating lots. Having to deal with nipples and mouth with the probiotic paste is a complete drag. It really takes all the fun out of breastfeeding (which is snap, feed, snap, done! - now THAT'S fun). sigh. How long do I have to continue after I see/feel no symptoms? And why isn't Ori's bum rash getting better? My nips feel somewhat better today, which is comforting. Oooh, I hear peeping from the other room. Best go quick before it's a howl! Adios muchachas! andy

Nicole - I'm really sorry to hear that little Will is getting worse At these times I think its so awesome that you practice the kind of parenting you do, because you are so IN TUNE with your baby. and that just rocks. I think I've said this before, but I'll say it again --- he is so lucky to have a mama like you

Andy - I'm not sure what to say about how long to take the pros for afterwards. we take them everyday, probably always will. I take 2 every morning on an empty stomach. And two at night. 1 acidophilus, 1 lactobacillus. Kids take the same thing, only 4 a day and a childrens chewable brand. Baby gets babydophilus mixed with a little water every day. For her we are using that rhino brand? Whatever its called. It has rhinoceri on the label.

Yesterday we hung out with some really nice mamas at a new possible playgroup. Anyways, one mama strait up gave me a mei tai. And Vioelt loves it!!! She slept in it all day, and we were able to skip right over the afternoonfussy period we've been having lately. Also talked to another tandem mama who loaned me a sympathetic ear.

Have more to type, but dh just handedm e a hungry babe

Ann - I LOVE the way our ability to type goes right down the drain as soon as baby hits the lap/arm/breast. One handed is tough! I hear you on the fight the yeasties thing. It's really not so bad here. I'm sure I got it because of changes in body chemistry, and w/dd it cleared up on it's own after her 3 mo. b'day. I think this will too. I think there's something about breast feeding and all the hormones and such that make my body go a little nuts, and the yeasties just take over. I'm careful with his bum, and am bringing the blow drier downstairs today to get that going. Beca LOVED the blowdrier on her little bum. Silly thing probably still would! Actually, maybe I would too... hmmmm

Ok, back to getting something done around here...minutes left before the bombs begin to fall from 1st grade classroom...the vocabulary this girl brings home! Ayei ya yai. caio.

I guess I didn't need to worry about the gel after all :)

Elizabeth Faye was born Sunday 2/6 at 8:37 pm after 4 hours of labor. 2 hours of it was spent getting ds picked up and getting us to the bc. We got the bc just before 7:30. She was born after about 15 mintues of pushing. No tears.

However...the placenta partial seperated and I started hemmoring. I had to be rushed over to the hopsital. We just got to gom home late this AM. Hospital sucked less than I thought. I managed to get a whopping 3 hours of sleep total the whole time I was there. 2 of which managed to be together, last night so I feel better today. The blood loss was scarey it just kept gushing and gushing. Elizabeth was born ready to nurse, so that helped quite a bit. MW said if she didn't nurse like a champ right away like that, things would have been way worse.

Elizabeth was 9 lbs 20" She has black hair like her daddy.

I was going to read all the posts but I just don't have the energy right now

Hurray AZ!!!!! I was wondering if you'd had her.

I'm glad you're home and feeling better. Take care, and get lots of rest

Just wanted to say Isabelle Marie was born 2/3/05 at 5:51am, 8lbs8oz, 21.5in at home after a long labor (short active, long early).

Congrats to all the other new mommies!
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!! Az - scary indeed! I am so SO glad you are ok, and that baby is doing so well. You gave her life and she gave you life! That seems like a great way to start off in this world - keep mama alive!!! I am really super glad that your hospital ordeal wasn't as traumatic as it might have been, and that you are already home and healing.

And Jess! You go girl! Your labor sounds so much like mine - long early, short late, at home. Good for YOU!!! Congratulations on a beautiful new girl! You chose beautiful names for her. I am so glad we have two new birthdays to celebrate! Enjoy mamas; write more about the event soon (with pics:-) !!! Love, andy

Congrats Az and Jess!!!
Yay babies!!!

Sorry to hear about the transport and bleed, Az. But it sounds like the experience was ok (after all that hospital talk).

So we're waiting now to hear from Jessitron and Heidi??

more babies!!!!
Welcome Isabelle and Elizabeth...a few girls, now, huh?

Congrats on the good homebirth Jess, and Az, glad she came on her own, and that your placental issue was handled safely! We look forward to pictures..

I am the last pregnant one here I think, Jessitron's water broke Saturday, so she MUST have a babe by now.

Today is our wedding anniversary. It's the date we met, the date we married, NOT the date of the birth of our first child! We headed out for a nice Indian dinner (not too spicy), and followed it with some Italian hazelnut- chocolate gelato. Yum.

I still have NO sign of labor, a very effeaced cervix, can't get a finger in the cervical os so no dilation, and a high baby. Had a big emotional upset friday that is just letting loose today, and a busy week for the birthteam this week. I think babe will wait till Friday or so, and let things settle down. I'll be joining Lisa in the fully 2-weeks overdue club, I think.

Heidi, heading for a clary sage bath now, thank you, typing easily with both hands!
well Heidi- all I can say is ENJOY the end of your pregnancy!!! It is truly a most magical time! Your life will never be the same once your baby is here, so spend time with your dh and do things you will not be able to do once the baby is born (like swim, go to the movies, etc....).

My baby has either been asleep or fussing today. He's very tired apparently. It's 6:30 and he's fast asleep in my arms and doesn't look like he's gonna wake any time soon. We'll see what the night has in store for us.... he's fine once he's asleep at night, but a few nights I've had a hard time getting him there. such a little bundle.
'hear ya on the bundle thing! Ori was up every 2 hrs last night (after a nice stretch 8 - 12), so I'm heading back to bed while he's still asleep. He fed off one breast and then slept and woke 2 hrs. later for the other, which made leakage which meant I was SUPPOSED To get up and do the probiotic thing but I just could NOT haul ass outta bed. ugh. Oh well. I guess if we're intended to suffer with the yeasties then we're going to suffer one way or another (guilt, pain, rash, etc.). sigh. Hope you got some sleep K., and Jessi's babe was a TOUGHIE! Wow... have most of us had one like it or WHAT!? Lotsa babies these days! Hang in there Heidi! We're all thinking of you and now you are the most specialist lastest one of us all. That is cool for you, so don't sweat when - one thing guaranteed - that baby WILL be coming out! LOL Andy
post #16 of 82
Congratulations Az & Jess! Bring on the girls!!

Az, that must have been a bit too much excitement with the placenta! I'm glad everything is fine now.

Heidi, I'm thinking of you & wishing you lots of blissful birth vibes. Enjoy those last moments!

Brynn celebrated her 3 week-day yesterday! I can't believe she's already nearing a month old! Gah, it goes so fast, doesn't it? She remains very easy to please, and so far doesn't seem to be much of a comfort nurser at all. Believe me, DD #1 WAS... oh, was she... lol! With Brynn, when she's done she's done.

It's rainy here today, so not much planned. I hope to take a walk later on as I've found that to be sooooooo helpful with my general mood and dealing with some of the 2 1/2 year old crankies that have descended on our household lately. Our midwife is also popping by this afternoon, so that will be nice to look forward to. Otherwise, we'll put away the rest of the groceries that we picked up last night and finish the laundry! Finger painting will also be in the plans, I imagine.
I hope this link works

Link is not working. grrr
hey Andy- your last night with Ori sounds like my every night with Luka. I think he nurses about once every 2 hours or so (maybe longer sometimes) and then only on one side. In fact he always only takes one side. I'm finally starting to regulate where the non-nursing side isn't rock-hard and knobby.... he also is waking up kinda early- like 6:30-6:45 ugh. But he's so happy when he awakens, and has been lying on my bed for awhile now just smiling at the shadows (?).
I'm not complaining or anything though. My 8 year old had me up in the rocker tons when he was this small....

I started looking online at thrush resources last night and I'm changing my tactic..... not gonna use the nystatin no more (they say many strains of yeast are resistant)..... gonna do a concerted effort after we get back from town today with gentian violet, vinegar, probiotics, maybe baking soda, maybe GSE and most importantly, LOW or NO sugar. and within a few days I willl have relief!!!! I swear by it!
oh baby fusses. bye
Az, are you trying to post pics? If so, you have to share them online to yourself, then post the link in your email here clear as mud, eh?

allright Jess!!!! You rock mama. I'm so glad things went failrly smooth.

Our babies are getting so big so fast. Violet is SIX WEEKS OLD today!!! . It seems liek with each child it goes by faster. She is starting to leave the tiny newborn phase, and each day becomes more and more like a regular baby.
Hi all. Sorry I have been AWOL so long. I am doing well and sleeping pretty well (compared to some here...sorry) but sooo sooo busy juggling work and kids and errands and company and all that. It's been good, but busy! I have sent no one their PM's with chiro referrals and now I forget who all actually wanted one. Please PM me if you still want a referral and tell me the name of the town or towns you are in or are close enough to travel to...I need suburbs and everything. I promise I will respond.

Ribh is doing great. I weighed her the day after she was born at the chiro school baby scale: 7 lbs 12 oz
One week later (same scale): 7 lbs 14 oz (good!)
One week later (same scale): 8 lbs 9 oz (good god child!)

No skim milk in this mama! I never weighed my babies regularly before, so this may be normal (for my babes)...but it is amazing me! Now if I could just lose weight that fast..right?

Congrats to all the new mamas and their big healthy babes! Hooray for all the "January babes" regardless of when they got here!
