Halloween for the pagans

post #1 of 5

OK, so I am now admitting to everyone what they have all suspected all along, I am a pagan. My Celtic roots insist upon it.
I found this great link, and think I might garnish a more simple ritual for our use this year...

Any suggestions, discussion would be appreciated

Hey, nice to hear you are out of the broom closet!!!

I'm still getting through Mabon, but I'll be back and post when it's over.

I don't get that elaborate or specifically Wiccan. I do cook a special meal and set an extra place for our departed loved ones. That goes outside later in my special place in the garden.

Since the last couple of years I've been looking at Halloween as a secular holiday for the children. We do trick or treat and if it's warm it becomes almost a neighborhood party. Last year DH dressed up while taking the children around. I sort of did too, but this year I have a proper hat to complete the outfit.{insert litle witch emoticon here}

Since Sisterhood of Avalon celebrates the Celtic holidays on a lunar calendar, Samhain as such is on 20 November this year, as late as it can be! That makes my life easier. I can do the children's activities on Halloween and my Samhain activities on Samhain rather than doubling up(like last year when they fell on the same night).

I haven't decided which night I'll do the supper, maybe both????
