link between root canal and terrible diseases.... what to do?

I may have a 'dead tooth.'
I am finding out in a few days, but the dentist allready said my tooth my have died and I may need a root canal.

Does anyone know the links between root canals causing diseases?

What are you susposed to do with a dead tooth? It doesn't hurt or anything (yet?).

I've never heard of root canal causing diseases. The only thing I've read a lot about is NOT taking care of infections and cavities in your teeth and subsequently having an increased risk of heart disease and stuff. Hope you find out more.

I've read the same

But it is not true. If you need a root canal then have it done. They are best performed by an endodontist.

There is evidence that a root canal "treated" tooth always remains infected...

I do not consider this to be "evidence". Some people believe that the scientific community exists as a cover-up, good old boy organization. These are writings for people who subscribe to that feeling. I do not.

Wow, you are living in a dream world?

Here is an interview with George Meinig, DDS who is the author of "Root Canal Cover-Up EXPOSED - Many Illnesses Result"

http://www.mercola.com/article/denta...oot_canals.htm

Here is an excerpt from the interview concerning Dr Weston A Price's extensive, scientific work:

Quote:
GM First, let me note that my book is based on Dr. Weston Price's twenty-five years of careful, impeccable research. He led a 60-man team of researchers whose findings - suppressed until now rank right up there with the greatest medical discoveries of all time. This is not the usual medical story of a prolonged search for the difficult-to-find causative agent of some devastating disease. Rather, it's the story of how a "cast of millions" (of bacteria) become entrenched inside the structure of teeth and end up causing the largest number of diseases ever traced to a single source.
If there is no medical cover up by scientists, or more accurately their paymasters, then what about Vioxx, Thalidimide, Rotashield, thimerosal and all the others?

I realize this isn't your area of expertise but I highly suggest you read this article by Russell Blaylock, MD, on the thimerosal cover up by those good 'ol boys, the official document he sites was obtained through the freedom of information act and it is a real eye-opener of what really goes on between the medical scientists, big pharma and the CDC.

I was asked to write a paper on some of the newer mechanisms of vaccine damage to the nervous system, but, in the interim, I came across an incredible document that should blow the lid off the coverup being engineered by the pharmaceutical companies in conjunction with powerful governmental agencies.

It all started when a friend of mine sent me a copy of a letter from Congressman David Weldon (R-Fla.), M.D. to the director of the CDC, Dr Julie L. Gerberding, in which he alludes to a study by a Dr. Thomas Verstraeten, then representing the CDC, on the connection between infant exposure to thimerosal-containing vaccines and neurodevelopmental injury.

In this shocking letter, Weldon refers to Dr. Verstraeten's study which looked at the data from the Vaccine Safety Datalink and found a significant correlation between thimerosal exposure via vaccines and several neurodevelopmental disorders including tics, speech and language delays and possibly to ADD.
There are worse cover-ups than even that, by the illustrious NIH no less, who have knowingly been killing mothers and babies in Africa with the AIDS drug Nevirapine.

I can't really see the point of even bothering to go into the fluoride research, but....

[T]he American Dental Association - a professional association of dentists - that staunchly backs the systemic, mass-medication of Americans under the claim that this drinking-water maneuver will "reduce cavities." And yet, one might reasonably think that after waiting for sixty years for any signs of the miraculous dental health claim to occur, we might have seen something by now that would favorably back up this aging, empty promise. The promised results have not yet occurred. In fact, in 2000 the Surgeon General issued the "first ever" call to action due to increasing dental problems in the U.S., although we are now, as a country, completely inundated with fluoride.
From the article:

National Fluoride Database Launched by USDA by Mary Sparrow Dancer

As I stated the root canal 'study' holds no water. As for the pharmaceutical companies I have no doubt that like our government, big money has spoiled the honesty. And as for the flouride issue, there is no doubt there are problems with high doses. But when used as directed I have seen the benefit in my practice over 18 yrs.. The article you linked me to on the flouride subject has no scientific documentation.
We can no doubt get by without flouride...if I could only get everyone to eat, drink, brush and floss perfectly, and especially through the childhood years when the damage is usually done. It's the easy way out for a society who is fast paced and preoccupied. There is no denying that there is a huge benefit to the developing teeth when taken in the proper amounts...you and no one else can argue that fact away.
Questioning other possible side effects is a good thing and should continually be monitored.

The ADA could never ever admit they were so wrong for so long.

Nor could they ever admit proper nutrition could possibly produce strong teeth without brushing, flossing or fluoride. (Like trying to get MDs not to px cholesterol lowering drugs, which is such a total crock.) They'd be advocating themselves out of a job!

This is what I'm finding so fascinating about Weston Price's study of the nutritional habits of populations with no dental care whatsoever.

Me too! I love looking at the photos of those Swiss girls with their perfect teeth. Price said some of them had teeth covered in green slime yet they were perfect! It makes me feel better about my kids teeth (three kids, oldest 14 and no cavities)! I actually think cleaning their teeth with plan water and a terry wash cloth is probably better than coating them with toothpaste, which cleans squat. You try cleaning a sink with toothpaste, as an experiment.

I also think the genetic link is a crock. My grandparents had awful teeth (and an awful diet), my mother has terrible teeth (even worse diet), I have several fillings and my baby teeth needed to be extracted at three because they grew in black. I was fed condensed milk (FFT) and a diet of white bread with sugar or syrup on it (really, yuck). If you go by genetics my kids mouths should have rampant dental caries and they don't. We pretty much follow a NT diet and they drink lots of raw milk and take cod liver oil and Activator X as a supplement. We are not obsessive teeth cleaners and I avoid fluoride in any form to the extent of my ability.
