Anyone else got a toddler who only nurses from one breast?

My 25mo DD is a left-breast only nurser. She refuses to nurse on my right side. Occasionally I can get her to suck by saying "you have to have this one first & then you can have the other one" but she sucks for one second and then says "yuck". This isn't an issue at home- but if I'm gone for an evening with DH I end up with a DD cup left breast & a B cup right breast.
I'm tired of looking like a freak. :LOL
Any suggestions?

I have a 2.5 year old who only nurses on the left and says "yuck" when I ask her to nurse on the right. My left breast is much bigger than my right even though my 4.5 year old nurses on my right. I'm due in September, so baby will nurse on the right for the most part, and hopefully things will even out!

No advice for you....just wanted you to know someone else is in the same boat. Oh...my left is a G/H cup and my right a DD ... feel any better? :LOL

My son favors the right side and will not nurse from the left during the day : To alleviate the fullness I nurse him on the left side during the night when he is too tired to notice or object. It is annoying looking so lopsided during the day. I always feel everyone notices, but it's probably just me.

My dd would only nurse on one side for awhile when she was little, like 4 months. I figured out that she only wanted to lay on one side, not the other. I don't think it had anything to do with my breast, but her own positioning. I ended up laying on the bed with my feet pointing south while her feet pointed north, and she nursed sort of upside down, with her top lip on the under side of my breast, if you can picture that.

The things we do for our kids!!!

i have a 26 month old who hasn't nursed on the right in over 6 months! I am soooooo lopsided

My dd nurses from my left side primarily... about every other day she'll nurse from the right side a few minutes... I don't mind, I'm righthanded, so I always have that hand free! There is a size difference, like DD vs D though, not as noticable. She's been like this since about 4 months.

Parker nurses on the right breast during the day and on the left at night.

Andrew is 21 months and has only nursed on the left side since he was a few months old. It was just uncomfortable for both of us on the right side, so I stopped. For a few months, I tried to pump on the right, but I gave that up because I was hardly getting anything.

I don't think Andrew knows that I have two breasts. He never sees the right one as I always have a shirt on during nursing and only lift one side. I'm actually thinking of "showing" him, and letting him nurse on the right if he wants -- just so he's not confused when he starts to figure things out. There's really no milk, but I figure he'll want to try it out.

As for size, I'm small anyway -- so I'm probably a B and an A. Not really noticeable in most clothes.

I sometimes joke that the left one is for Andrew and the right one if for DH.

Wow, I thought DS was the only freak, or at least I'm surprised that there are so many others out there . He started refusing the right side at 10 months--so we're going on a year of nursing only on the left side. If he sees me naked he will ask to nurse on the right but always spits it out and says "yuck" or just laughs. I do occasionally leak milk out that side so I know there is still something there but he never gives it a chance. I'm not as badly lopsided as I used to be--an A on one-side and a small B on the other.

:LOL No advice, eh, mamas? At least I'm not the only lop-sided mama!

Ds(18.5 months) nurses mostly on the right side, and very rarely on the left. It's kind of funny because when he was smaller he preferred the left. He only nurses at nap, and bedtime...his choice...every once in awhile he sits up from suckling on the right side to take a very brief swig from the left. :LOL

My jaw dropped when I saw this thread! Yippy, I"m not alone....lol

I'm right with you ladies. My 28 month old DD has been nursing on the right side only for about a year now. I've become so lopsided (at least two sizes different). I found a fake boob insert from Victoria Secrets. I wore that all last summer. I have been gently leading toward weaning in the last couple of months by decreasing our "boo" time. So now I'm not sooo lopsided, but my fake boob is a bit too big now and I'm still very noticably lopsided.....uggg I've been hiding under layers of winter clothes right now, I only hope I'll even out for summer.

We call my boob's "Momma Boo and Baby Boo". Baby boo is the "yucky" one....it's so sad.....

Just about any city w/ a hospital that deals w/ breast cancer will have a botique somewhere that caters to women who have lopsided issues. My mom swears by this insert that looks rather oddly like a piece of raw chicken (She was lopsided for a couple of years before having a reduction/reconstruction). You could probably get a couple of different sizes so that you can match no matter the time of day.

My two year old usually only nurses from the right boob, but occasionally will take the left when we are lying down.

Another one here! DD nurses only on the right. From the time my milk came in, the right has been more productive, but she didn't completely give up the left one until a few months ago.

And yep, I'm lopsided. I wear these stretch bras from target, though, and they sort of even things out.

I'm hoping the new babe prefers the left!

Jack nurses from the right breast a few times a week and the left breast several times a day and night. My right breast is still bigger (and has been since puberty.) I don't find it too obvious even when I haven't nursed in a while- maybe it's just less noticable in I cups rather than B cups?

I'm in the same boat as all of you ladies.

All I can say is Victoria Secret's Body Beautiful demi bra. A little bit of push-up, a little bit of padding, and all looks good.

I just posted on this yesterday. Of course, now he's asking for the right again. It's just mind games

DS will be one this week and has only nursed on the left side for the past 8 months. If I try to give him the right, he laughs. I am VERY lopsided. No advice, just nice to see we are all not alone.
