Where are you in VT? It seems like everyone I know has had a homebirth in this state. I know that I had a choice of like 8 or 9 midwives :LOL

Also try posting on the finding your tribe forum. We have a thread there that is wicked old w/mamas from all parts of the state and I'm sure you can be helped out

I live in St. johnsbury. I know of two midwives in the area. However, they both work through the local hospital and do not practice homebirth.

Yes, I know one of the CNMs you are talking about. For some reason, I'm blanking on her name, Laurie...... She used to be a homebirth mw MW do travel though, so don't be discouraged.

Anyway, I see you found the Finding your tribe forum You might want to post here, as it is very active and most of us still reply when we get an e-mail notification.

You are probably thinking of Laurie Foster. She is a great CNM, but now works at Alice Peck Memorial in Lebanon, NH. My friend is a midwife near Montpelier- Erin O'Hanlon.
I don't know anyone near St. J, but did you try the Littleton area?

Mama Coltrane- could you tell me how to get in contact with your friend from montpelier? Montpelier is only about 45 min. from st. johnsbury and would be the closest person I have found so far. thanks

yes, thank you, it was Laurie Foster.

I was talking to a friend IRL about this thread and she recommended you call Laurie's old practice as, to her knowledge, a MW or 2 would be taking over her practice. It is Long River Midwives.

Also, isn't there a Ruth something in your area? I think maybe in Montpelier. You might want to call your local LLL leader and ask if she knows who is doing homebirths in your area.

hth some,
Amy
