Transfer plans for older kids

I know we pound the older kids issue into the ground occasionally but... what are your plans for your older kids in the event of a transfer?

My plan for the older kids during the birth involves a second assistant my midwife is bringing to help them out -- as I am not comfortable with asking others to be present (didn't want them around with the other two, either LOL) ... but I'm not sure what we'll do in the case of a transfer, it'll take my folks or really just about anyone more than an hour to get here to take over the kids if a situation arises demanding them.

Could the second assistant midwife continue to care for them at home either for the rest of the birth or until someone else could get to them? Do you have a babysitter who is more local who you trust who could take over for the second assistant midwife if that is necessary? Although that might be tough because that might require waking someone in the middle of the night.

We really don't have ANYONE close... ~~sigh~~
But I worry -- the kids will be freaking out if there's a reason to transfer (assuming they're not asleep in the middle of the night)... and I'm not so sure about leaving them in the care of someone they think of as basically a stranger (midwife's assistant)...

Oh, good point. Obviously I haven't thought this all the way through. I can see your point. Hmm... Anyway the kids could meet the midwife's assistant beforehand so that at least she's not a 100% complete stranger?

Hopefully someone else has some good suggestions. Now I'm very curious.
