We got our insurance reimbursement!

Yea!!! We got our check today! After the deductible and our 20%, our insurance paid more than half of our fees.

I'm looking forward to calling my Dad with this news. He couldn't believe that our insurance would actually pay, even though they had told us that they do cover homebirth as out of network.

Woo hoo! We really needed that money! Happy Valentine's Day!

Congrats on getting your check! I'm surprised you got reimbursed out of network with an HMO! My HMO (BC/BS) and DH EPO (Cigna) both state there is *NO* coverage for out of network. My only hope is going after it from the perspective that because they do not offer any in network homebirth providers they have to pay the MW as in network. HUGE longshot!

That's awesome! I wish they would just start paying for it like they do hospital birth, the whole 100%. Maybe some day.
