I just heard on the news that the 7th and 8th grade students have been required to wear neck braces that track their meanderings and help take roll in each and every class.
The tag has the child's name, address and phone number. The students whereabouts are recorded, and each student is required to wear it daily. The superintendant of education has been working with the local tech company "Incom" (?), I think, and they are testing its usefulness. The superintendant is also expecting $$$ in kickbacks from the tech if it is successful.
Why are we using children to test this? Why aren't they using the high school students or convicts to test this? Why aren't we tracking suspected terrorists or other undesireables? I have had trouble finding out if there are any pedophiles or any other criminals in my neighborhood, and now the school districts are spending $ tracking early adolescents instead.
...And I thought it was bad when they put metal detectors in the schools.
Anyone know anything about this?
