First Birthday

I am looking for simple ideas for my son's first birthday. All the Waldorf resources I have only provide ideas for older children's birthdays. Here is what I have so far:

1. Light a birthday candle
2. Read a short verse
3. Older brother will help blow out candle
4. Eat cake
5. Give dream pillows to baby guests

I just did a search looking for Waldorf-inspired ideas for my dd's first birthday and found your thread.

Sorry you didn't get any responses. Your plans sound lovely. How did it go?

I'm shopping for a birthday ring for dd right now!

For our DS first we decorated seasonal fall..... he had a special silk his OMa made and he sat on it and had help from friends opening gifts, his OMA made him a birth story book, we had a pic of him framed in an autograph mat that everyone signed, i made him a birthday wreath he wore ( had lil fall leaves on it), for favors i made all the toddlers rainbow dye tshirts and gave lil wooden jacobs ladder ( symbolic of crossing over the rainbow bridge) i have to go right now but if it hink of more ill post again... hope that helps : O )
