Ink stains?

I just washed a ton of clothes today and thought I had cleaned out DH pockets well. He had a pen in a pair of pants that I missed (from work). I know have ink stains on all of our pants and some other clothes like shirts and socks. It's also on my light brown coat. Is there anything I can do to get it out for the next wash? I am devastated by this! It's the only time it's happened and I didn't catch it cause I was pissed at said hubby. TIA!

Put a towel or something else absorbant that can get inky on the back or inside of the ink-stained item. Blot the other side of the item (idrectly on the stain) with rubbing alcohol. Or hairspray if you don't have any alcohol. Even if it is already dryer-set, you may still be able to get it out. Keep blotting, and moving the towel so it can absorb more ink- if you don't move it you will never get it all up.

If that doesn't work, you can always go to the store and buy a product called Stain Devil- there are fomulations for just about everything.

You can also try making homemade "oxyclean"

1 part baking soda
1 part hydrogen peroxide
2 parts hot, but not boiling water.

Dissolve the BS in the hot water, then add the hydrogen peroxide, and use like the first respondent said, by blotting with something absorbent underneath.
