I just wanted to see what other mama's days are like. My 15 mo. was down to once a day and then a few times at night but this last round of teething has stimulated round the clock nursing. In fact I have a border-line migrane right now from not getting to sleep last night longer than 20-30 minutes at a time. She still has a few molars to go so I know there's more days like this to come.

DS is much older than your DC, so it's not really the same, but...
DS nurses to sleep then every 2-3 hours so 4-5x at night (with one marathon as we get towards 7am). Then a few times a day. So, in the 7-10X a day range (I guess). I really don't pay too much attention and am usually very far off with my guesses (I remember guessing that DD nursed 8-14 times a day and then counting one day and giving up when it went over 20 (and that wasn't counting night nursings)).
Good luck getting though this hard time. If you can, definately nap with baby. Some people have luck having DC chew on one of those icy things for teething before nursing but you have to be careful because:
1) COLD!!!! on your nipple
&
2) Their mouth is numb so they bit more often.
Sometimes, though, it was the only thing that saved us.

J turns four in April, and nurses every now and then. Sometimes it's once or twice a week, sometimes it's once or twice a day, sometimes it's even more than that. M is 16 months and I have no idea how often she nurses - it's probably around 8 times a day.

My nursling in 12 months and nurses at least 6-8 times a day and then anywhere from 2-8 times a night (I *think*
)
Have you tried Hylands teething tablets? I think I got mine at the regular store. They really work wonders and they're all natural

DD is 17 months and she nurses A LOT!
It doesnt matter if we are just hanging out at home or spending an exciting day out her nursing needs are the same. She probably nurses at least 12 times a day and 3-6 times at night.
My DH calls her a boob-a-holic!

adam, who will be 5 in april, nurses 3x a day. wakeup (lately, he's been waking up earlier to nurse longer-40min), afterschool, and in the evening before bed. sometimes we'll skip afterschool, but then make up for it on the weekends.
boyd, who is 3 1/2, nurses 3-4x day. wakeup, around lunch, evening, and when brother gets home from school. and then sometimes we miss some of those feedings, but have an extra one on another day.
cali, who is 11 mos gets free range. she is usually with me, and nurses whenever she wants. i have no idea really how much she nurses during the day. she's not much of a napper, and it seems she'll fall asleep at my breast after awhile, but if i move her she'll wake up. she really likes to stay up late, and will nurse a lot then. and i think she only wakes up 2 during the night. but that varies. a few weeks ago, it seemed like she never slept. she is cutting all her back teeth. but nursing one at night is so much easier than nursing two because i can lay on my side and doze.
but, i can leave her with her Dad for 2 hours while i take my boys hiking up the mountain (we live at the bottom of one, and this is the time to the year to hike off trail). she doesn't fuss.

sophmama, sorry about your migraines. hang in there. the teeth do come through even though it seems like a long time

My 3 year old nurses 2 times a day and 1-2 times during the night.
My 4.5 month old, of course, nurses every couple of hours around the clock.

Claudia (16mo) nurses 3x per day on weekdays: upon waking, right after work (I'm a WOHM) and then to sleep.
On weekends it's usually 5x per day.

Ds (26 months) just cut back over the last few months, he now has some days where he nurses only 3x but more commonly will nurse about 5 ... I think...LOL you know how all those thousands of nursing sessions sort of blur together.
But the BIG news about nursing frequency at our house is that...
he no longer nurses at night, by his own choice!!! Woo Hoo!!!
