Hello everyone! Hope everyone is feelin good.....went for my 36wk checkup today. Dr says I am still only about 1 1/2 cm but I am 50% and that with first baby it is more important to thin out first. The baby has been tranverse and he turned right way not and dr said head is low in pelvies and is fixed so he shouldnt move at all. But he still cant tell me how long. PAINFUL braxton hicks tho.....I just hope sumthin happends soon. I have been sayin for the last few months I think I will go the first wek of Mar...but I hope it is sooner!!
IS anyone craving ice? I crave chopped ice all the tiem and my bf hates it...but I read the other day that that can b a sign of Iron defeciency.

So anyone have any info about how long they think I have... I am just tired of not bein able to sleep and bein heavy

Also I was about 130 when i got preg and I am not that big really if u seen my belly pic on here at least i dont think i am for far as I am.... But as of today I have gained 48lbs and I am just mortified and i dont know where the wgt is and I hope that I could get rid of it quick. Has anyone else gained alot like this?

Thanks girls......

Craving ice is definetly a sign of iron deficiency. Get thee some dark green leafy veggies, an iron supplement like floradix and drink up some good tea like alfalfa and nettles or red raspberry leaf

As for how soon you could go...well it could be today it could be 4 weeks from now. Effacing and dilating really have no bearing on when you may go. Its one reason why I hate and refuse internals. They are just unnecessary and don't really tell you anything.

Don't worry about the weight gain. I'm the same as you and this is my 3rd pregnancy. Half of it drops off over night after the birth and the rest gradually falls off within the first 8/9 months. I started this pregnancy at 132 lbs and at 38 weeks now weigh 175 lbs, but I am just ALL belly. I know that I am eating healthily and all is well. I'm sure it will be the same for you. almost everyone I know gains about 40 lbs when pregnant.

I also have gained a little over 40 pounds this pregnancy and cannot find any of it. Then again, I started around 100, so I needed to gain a bit more than average.

With dd, I gained 35 pounds and had lost 40 by the time she was 2 months old. It just flew off. I do not know if it was the breastfeeding or all the stress (she was in the NICU for more than a month and has a lot of medical problems and disabilities), but I had no trouble with the weight at all. You'll be fine, don't worry!

Unfortunately, dilation and effacement mean nothing as far as when you'll deliver. I walked around at 80% effaced and 4cm dilated for a week before my son made his appearance. And he was well engaged for 6 weeks prior to birth. Sorry! Austin'll make his appearance when he's good and ready! LOL...I wish I had better news there for ya!

The last month of pregnancy is definitely not the most pleasant, but it is necessary... The baby will arrive when he is done incubating ... Sure would be nice to know ahead of time when that would be!

I was dilated "0" 24 hours before dd arrived. My midwife came to my home & told us that it could be another week. I decided it wouldn't be, so I squatted a lot, and pictured the baby coming out... (I was two days before my due date though & I think the baby was ready, it was my body holding her up!)

Give it time... He will come out!!

And the weight thing... I gained about 40 lbs with dd, then lost it within a few months. (Then gained it all back!!! :LOL )

Ice can be a sign of low iron. It can just be that you need ice. I can say that this baby changed from a breech position when I started eating ice on a regular basis... I also think it is possible that it just makes your mouth numb & headaches etc go away!!

Just my opinions...

I crave ice too- have been for some time- I take Floradix Iron supplement and had my iron checked so I don't think it's a deficiency for me- I just love the sensation of cold and crunchy right now for some reason- I would be eating popsicles but don't want the sugar.

March is getting so close! I keep checking the board hoping there will be a post about someone in labor!

I heard on another thread that ice craving was normal?? Dont know!

As far as the weight gain- I gained well over 40lbs with DD- and I am not sure where it all was either- however, once I gave birth and nursed it just kinda dropped off! This pregnancy is so different, I have gained 14lbs then droped back 3 so now I am at 11lbs total. I have been worried, but my MW said that if I had started out at 100lbs she would be worried but I was normal to start so this is fine! I think it is just how some babies grow and how they take from you. This baby loves to take from my hips My friends tell me I look great and from the front I dont even look pregnant, with DD I was ALL OVER! :LOL

Good luck- no idea on when you will go! I never get check so I dont know where I was at 36 weeks last time or this time either! I went 2 weeks over with my first but this one I think will be right around its due date

Jamie, you better relax or you'll go crazy if your baby is late!!!

You could easily have another month to wait. I walked around 3 cm dilated for three weeks with my first.
