frugal knock off recipes

Do you have any fave recipes that are cheaper versions of boxed or restaurant stuff.

Here's mine

I bought a box of beer bread from tastefully simple and LOVED it, but not for $5 a box, so I searched around for a recipe, well this is just about as good as tastefully simple beer bread mix.

3 cups flour
1/3 cups sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
one 12 ounce beer ( I used natural ice- the cheap stuff)

put in greased loaf pan at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes

YUMMY, even with cheap beer.

I made homemade cheesy bread Friday. Used just a basic white bread recipe in the machine, but spread it out on a pan, sprayed with olive oil and garlic and baked it until almost done...spread a little mozzarella on it and baked until brown and bubbly. Tasted just like our local pizza joint's, twice as much as one order of theirs is. There's would have cost us around $8 for what I spent about $1 for.
