Kids at home during labor

I am having an extrememly long "latent" phase of labor. Contrax every seven minutes or so for the past few days. I'm getting very irritable and tired. Dh has been down with the flu since last Sunday and all the kids have been sick as well. Most are better now but still very demanding. I'm starting to wish I was in a hospital and could be AWAY from these kids. I just want to relax. Is it wrong to send them to grandma's? I really thought I would want them around but they are only irritating me. I feel awful saying that but it's true. HELP!

If I were closer I would come play with your kids but I am probably pretty far away. Do you have any close friends/family who could come entertain them or take care of them for awhile and give you a break or help you?? Hang in there, mama. Think baby... as in "baby, get here soon!"

NO, absolutely not wrong to send them to grandma's house! Do what is best for you so you can have the birth you want. No feeling guilty! The kids will have fun, too.

Thank you so much! I feel really awful about my feelings towards the kids right now. We are so close knit. We homeschool and are together all the time. They don't usually bug me like this. I can't believe how my hormones are affecting me. All but one are in bed for the night so I'll call grandma in the AM if this baby hasn't made progress yet!

Yes, you need to take care of you and so you can birth your new baby. Wish I too lived closer.

Much Love~
