Ezra Omani is here!!!

I have wanted to post for quite a few days, but due to my birth curcumstances I haven't been able to get to the computer before now.

My beautiful son was born Feb 11th. A very long and full of unexpected turns labor! I'll write the whole story soon, but g=here are the words of my best friend, doula partner, and doula....

stats = baby boy, Omani for now born at 4:10 pm yesterday afternoon on
Feb 11th. 7# 14 oz 20 3/4 in big, beautiful nursin' lips. sandy
blonde, light brown hair, marcela's nose eric's lips and mouth.
cute, cute, cute.

You can see by these pictures how it went. ;( but it was such a
heroing experience. in time, you'll get Marcela's own story.
basically, the placenta was very low and anterior, which wouldn't allow
her lower uterine segment to thin out. she got to 8cms after hours and
hours of Pitocin. she had the highest dose of pit i've EVER seen. the
nurse was even getting nervous. She was at 8 cms for about the last 10
or so hours of her labor. The midwife and I rocked and rolled her
pelvis to wiggle the baby down. The midwife gave her homeopathics
throughout the night. and about a gallon of Rescue Remedy was enjoyed
by ALL of us!

Marce had me and eric and her midwife by her side the whole time. we
prayed, danced, sang, cried, cried, cried, begged and begged the
birthing goddesses to allow this birth to happen - marcela called omani
to her arms, daddy called his baby out, said to omani that he would let
him play team sports if he really wanted to. (eric wants the baby to
be a skateboarder). when they went in, the doc cut through the
placenta and was quite surprised, remember she NEVER had a sonogram in
this pregnancy. what a blessing too, because if we had all known this
whole pregnancy that her placenta was so low, we would have been on
pins and needles. marcela said to me in the recovery that she's
thankful she didn't know about the placenta and she was able to enjoy
her beautiful pregnancy. there is still lots and lots and lots and
lots of grieving that needs to happen. and it will in time.

more pics later. feel free to pass this along to whoever.

we are all forever changed by this birth....

Congrats on your sweet baby boy... I am sorry that your birth was so hard. I agree so much with the joy of not having u/s however, I have a condition where the docs want to check every detail and I have said "no"... The last thing I want to do is spend my joyful pregnancy in fear.

She is just too cute, and you all look so in love!
Congrats!
