? about serging diapers

I just got a serger at Christmas time and have yet to really make anything using it. I am still trying to figure everything out. My question is what stitch(?) should I use. Just a regular 4 thread overlock? I'm using a knit for the outer and hemp for the body. Will that give my enough stretch?

I used a 4 thread overlock & it seems to be working well. I just finished up some sspp made of old knit shirts & the stitch seemed to work well. Ihey've probably been through about 3 launderings & so far so good.

I just took a basic class for using my serger and the instructor said that most of thei time people just use the basic 4 stitch overlock.
