Making Sock Puppets -- QUICK!!!

I want to make Owen sock puppets for Christmas.

How last minute can you get?

Anybody have any cute ideas?

I'm thinking of just buying the stuff, and wrapping it up, and having us make them together? Does that sound cheap? It's only for a 3 year old...MY 3 year old, so it's not like he'd care... and I think it would be FUN!

Thoughts? How exactly DO YOU MAKE sock puppets?

oh LaLa, thank you! I love how the mouth is made! We have done sock puppets, but I had never figured out how to do a mouth.

Emily, btw I think making a puppet "kit" to give to Owen is a great idea. I did this last year with my dd, except, my kit was felt people (just cut people shapes out of brown, tan, and white felt}, then included in a shoebox yarn hair, google eyes, buttons, scrap material for clothes, ect. She LOVED it, she is very crafty even at 4! I think they have more fun when they are in on the creating anyway! Have fun!
