Our "due date" was Jan 16th and after 11 days, our baby girl was born at home, like planned, on January 27th. I had a 23 hour labor with my first and... get this, a four and a half hou labor with this birth! The greatest part is that she came 8 minutes before our midwife!!!! We had a perfect, unplanned, unnasisted birth. It was amazing! My partnet Nick and I lifted her out of the water together and my Mom took pictures while my two year old Gwen played and watched. I wouldn't change a thing. Labor was empowering and strong and every contraction was like a huge rush of light and electricity. I used reflexology through each one. She was 8lbs and 14 oz and her name is Astrid Nadine Niles.
