making stuffers for pocket dipes

Hi -
I am new to sewing and trying out some simple but still useful projects. I'm thinking of making some stuffers for the wonderoos I bought from ebay. I'm using microterry towels (walmart type) in my older son's fuzzi bunz right now but the static makes me a bit crazy. I was wondering if I could cut down some of those, fold them, and put flannel on the outside so they would be prefolded and also less staticy. I was thinking I would sew around the edges and also down the center. Does that make sense? Does it sound like it would come out too bulky? Should I just deal with the static or are there other things i could make stuffers out of?

Thanks for any help!

I think you could put one layer of flannel on it but you'd need to turn and topstitch it most likely or do an overcast stitch because flannel frays.. badly! lol If you used a knit like sherpa, hemp fleece/terry, etc. you'd only need to sew it together. But I say otherwise go for it. I wouldn't use more than one layer of whatever fabric you choose at this point because even through microfiber towels are very trim adding another three layers (when folded) can get bulky.

Uh yeah...and no one told me when I made my doublers/liners that towel/terry cloth would fray too!!!!!!!!!! : Can you imagine my surprise when I cleaned my dryer filter and found enough towel shreds to make my own diapers liners on a loom?? :LOL They have finally after a few washes stopped unraveling outside my stitches. Oh well.....................

I trifolded mine, and sewed the top and bottom together, the one side is still opened, I thought that would help with cleaning and drying. Before I did that I sewed microsuede one one third, so when it was trifolded all the micro towel was covered. they work well and the micro suede doesn't fray.
