Indian prefolds to semi-fitteds???

I'm considering turning some of my inf. indian pf's into semi fitteds, but have this notion that the fabric is too thick for it to work. CPFs seem like they'd work so much better. Has anyone done IPFs this way??

Well I converted several Toddler CPF's into prefitteds and personally I took out all but two layers around the legs and wings. Through the middle I left the 8 layers though but if you're worried you can take it down to 6. With a seam ripper (I did it with regular old scissors which is the slow way) you can take out the seams in the Indian prefold and really work with it easily. I kept the serging intact for most of my shaping in order not to lose my place in the diaper itself. Go for it! My prefitteds have turned out great and I'm sure yours will too! Post pictures~!
