How do you do that zig zag stitch for attaching elastic where instead of one stitch back and forth, it takes three in one direction then three in the other? Like around the Little Lambs AIOs? Does it require a special machine, or do you do it by hand?

It should have a stitch function that shows a zig zag with three stitches per direction. The older machines don't tend to have it but even the less expensive new machines now adays do. It's a great stitch if you're using lastin. But you don't have to use lastin. You can use knitted elastic from the fabric store and just tack down the ends and make a casing. So there are other options for elastic if you don't have the 3 step zig zag.
