I use an old stained napkin to drain that kind of thing on.

Ooooooh, me too, me too! Greasy bacon is the best!

As for cloth items, I use the crappy Gerber cloth diapers we bought for draining bacon grease for my ds (we only used a few as diapers, which are now cleaning rags, and left us with a few dozen that were opened and washed- unreturnable- so we use them for odd jobs). We use kitchen towels, cloth napkins (washcloths), handkerchiefs (flannel burp rags), and I am switching myself over to cloth tp (flannel squares). My dh is not too enthusiastic about cloth tp :LOL so he will continue to use throw-away stuff (which we need for guests anyway) and I DO use disposable baby wipes. I am stocking up on cloth menstrual pads for when my periods return (bf) and used cut up and stitched Gerber diapers before I had the money for cloth menstrual products.
