My bendys have hair with a side of bacon

Thanks to a little help from LaLa, my first attempts to make bendy dolls a la flower pixies have hair! It was easier than I thought.

Here is an album link for pictures. The first picture is a group of three, my daughter made the first pixie, the middle pixie is my first, and the last doll is my second pixie. The second picture in the album is a closer look at the yellow flower pixie to show she is a daffodil.

These little dolls are so addictive! I have a zillion more ideas on how to make them, including fairies and boys with felt clothes. I am waiting for the Wee Felt Folk book I requested to arrive at my branch library, I know it will really inspire me further (and give me some technical help too).

I also wanted to show the felt breakfast and snack sets I made for my nephew. My sister told me how he wanted to make her fried eggs with his play kitchen, but only had whole wooden eggs to use in the skillet and they would just roll around the pan. So I had to make him some fried eggs and then some bacon, pancakes .....take a look, you will see! I have wool felt now to make more food, these were made with the acrylic felt I had on hand.

Thanks for looking!

Oh I just saw this!
The fairies turned out great.

They look very professional

I love the breakfast food!
The girls would get a big kick out of that...maybe I'll pick up some felt for a new project...

hmm...

Thanks mamas! I've been making more as part of my Easter plans, I hope to finish them soon.

The felt food was a lot of fun to make. My sister reports that the fig newtons are his favorite . I hope to craft some more food soon, my kids didn't want me to give it away.

Jenny, you could be, really. We will have to work on finding your inner craftyness! Though at times I think it is a curse rather than a blessing. I can't just buy stuff, I have to buy the stuff to make it, then I still don't have it until I make it!

Love them all!!! How did you manage the 3D on the fig newtons??

I folded a strip of dark brown felt for the filling, took a few stitches in the middle, rotated it 90 degrees, then wrapped it in light brown felt and stitched a seam right where the seam would be on the real thing.

Those are gorgeous! Nice work!

The food looks so yummy, that you've inspired me to make some pancakes (real ones for late breakfast) now.

I LOVE your creations! I was inspired to make fried eggs for my nephew too. Boys love their eggs I guess. My sister had seen the haba egg and thought her ds needed it but we are too crafty to buy LOL!
Great job on the bendy dolls too!
My library doesn't have the wee folk book

Fantastic Mama

My sister and I didn't find the haba eggs until after I made these, but I like mine better anyway!

My library had to order wee folk from another library, the copy they thought they had was lost. It took 3 months! There is a craft-along at Amitymamas, I don't have the link right now but go over and look. The most important info is how to wrap the body. Lots of cool ideas for other stuff too.
