I am soooo tired.

No vomiting so far (I haven't ever, but there's a first time for everything!) I just feel *bleck* and oh, the heartburn!

Otherwise, I have a good amount of energy and feel great!!!

I have heartburn like crazy, but thanks to tums I am not worried about my calcium intake.
I have terrible nausia already which I didn't have with either of my boys.
My boobs are tingly but not sore which is nice
And I have to pee all the time
I am not feeling super tired like I normally do so maybe I swaped the nausia for the tiredness, I can only hope.

I am wiped out beyond belief. If I wasn't PG I'd think I had the flu or mono or something...

No nausea - no m/s with PG 1 either (knock on wood).

Lots of peeing.

Uterine twinges.

Lots of (TMI sorry) yellow CM - that mucus plug is starting strong..

Thus far I have had:
~ Tingly/sore breasts
~ Metallic taste in my mouth (I'm sucking on a piece of ginger candy as I type)
~ Uterine twinges
~ Hesitant around food. I don't feel sick, but I'm very careful to avoid anything that might make me sick

Last pg I had baaaaad m/s that started around 6 weeks and I'm hoping like crazy that I don't have it this time around. I was also very tired last pg and I've been feeling fine with this one.

* terrible nausea (I'm not a vomiter, but wish I were)
* very sore breasts
* feel drugged most days
* peed three times during the night last night
* tummy's protruding already

My DH thinks I'm making symptoms up because it's so early!

But I'm very soooo tired and incredibly ravenous. No nausea, luckily, I didn't get any kind of morning sickness with my first. I feel like my tummy is already sticking out, too. And I had just bought a new wardrobe. :LOL

I think my milk is drying up.

I forgot to mention the thirst. I feel so thirsty all the time that it actually makes me feel ill (hands start to shake). I'm drinking about 1 1/2 liters of water/day, plus around 1/2 liter of fresh juice.
I second the bad heartburn... I haven't been able to eat anything like normally for two days. Dinner last night was five pretzels, a handful of DH's fries, half a sandwitch and like fifteen tums. And the worst thing is I went shopping right befoer we found out, so I bought all these non-tummy-friendly treats, like fresh artichokes and extra-garlicky pasta sauce that are taunting me from the fridge!

I'm also spending about half my day running to the bathroom. I think we're going to have to redecorate it, since I'm spending SO much time in there, and it's a really ugly room.

Extra sex drive :
Seriously.

I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. But nothing- no nausea, sore breasts, nothing.

my symptoms

Wow, this has been a long 3 weeks. Since I conceived about 3 weeks ago, but now know that I am considered to be in my "5th" week since there are those two weeks that count that I wasn't actually pregnant. I'm sure that's old news to most here, but it was new to me, being that Feb. was the first time I had ever TTC, and this is my first time being pregnant. So, I've known for a little less that one week. When the symptoms started I felt like I was, but didn't want to get my hopes up too high, what I had was/is:

~Aversion to coffee (maybe the 1st symptom)
~weird sensations in lower abdomin
~increase in breast size, they hurt a little, not a ton
~my hormonal headaches (mild migraines) are back, I had been doing pretty well with those
~feeling wiped out but not sleepy
~hungry!

Yesterday I got a UTI, what a joy. I took a lot of cranberry extract and drank tons of water. I was sure that's what it was even though I've only had one before, it felt exactly the same, and came on suddenly, and my urine was so cloudy. I went to student health today since my insurance coverage for my maternity doctor group doesn't start for a few weeks. I didn't have any leucocytes in the urine, she thought I did a good job of flushing it all out with the water and the cranberry. so I go back in two days for another test, while continuing on water and cranberry. she wants to avoid antibiotics in possible.

I wonder what other symptoms I have to look forward to!!

Symptoms?
people telling me that I'm glowing,
that I'm showing (already!!!),
a little spacieness,
totally forgetting simple and stupid things (like showing up to class last thursday at 7 am... and I haven't classes on Thursdays since December!!! what makes it worse is that I went home and came back for my 8 o'clock... duh, it's thursday and I DON"T HAVE CLASS... I laughed myself to the car), being very thirsty (remember Parismaman that our bodies are increasing our blood volume by 50% so that's where all the water is going),
ravenously hungry... literally feel like I'm eating all the time,
up every morning for my classic 2 and 4 am pee and snack,
slight nausea when my blood sugar is low... but other than that... LOVING THAT I'M PREGNANT!!!

Oh yeah, extra sex drive... with #1 I told my honey that I finally knew what it was like to have one!!!

And kelly12, since no one else has answered you, IT'S TOTALLY NORMAL to have cramping when you were supposed to have your period. I did the first time around for a couple of months. Midwife said it was fine but to watch for blood. Take a nice deep breath... Your body knows how to grow this baby!

i dont think i was letting myself feel the symptoms before yesterday. i wasnt 100% sure i was pregnant. when i was pregnant with my son i had horrible morning sickness, so far nothing, but this morning i felt a bit off. ive been having insomnia. last night i cleaned my room at 11:30. life is chaotic because im getting ready to move, but i have a hard time sleeping in a messy room. i had a bad headache all day yesterday, but i dunno if it was from being pregnant or other things. i have beenpeeing a lot and tired in the day, naping when i can, but when night comes, bam. im no longer tired. anyone else have this? i lie awake thinking about babies and diapers and small hands and labour. i notice that my son is cuddlier with me, maybe because my milk is already less than before. i dont really expect my milk to stay since my son is over 2 and my milk supply has been pretty small lately, but i dont doubt that he will still nurse through this pregnancy if i can handle it. so far a have no breast tenderness.. my belly is a bit tender.

but generally i feel great! i love being pregnant!

I have practically no symptoms and sometimes doubt that I'm actually pregnant. Except for the positive pregnancy tests and the missed period, I would not know.

The only thing is nipples are a teensy bit sore, that's it!

Thank-you so much. It helps to hear that it is normal!

With my first pg I had bad insomnia. I would be dead tired by 8pm, fall asleep andthen be up just as dh was going to bed around, say, midnight. Then I would toss and turn till 4am and doze off for some restless sleep. Then I'd be up early the next day and I would be sooooo tired and the cycle would start all over again. Dunno why this happened. I think it was because I was not emotionally at peace and totally overwhelmed with the fact that I was going to have a baby... yeah he wasn't planned and neither of us really felt ready to be responsible for another life. I spent the first two months of my pg partying (I didn't know I was pg). Then I spent the next 8 months (yes I was pg 10 months) seriously worrying that my baby was going to be deformed or worse.

Maybe with your upcoming move and other stuff going on in your life you aren't tired at night because you just need that time to yourself and to reflect? or maybe it's just hormones.
Just wanted to let you know I went through it last time.

I am tired, but I've noticed a direct correlation between tiredness and not getting enough exercise (for me) or forgetting to take all my multivitamin pills (2x day). I am wiped out when I don't exercise the day before.

I'm thirsty and get headaches too - but I read in a book (somewhere) that the first trimester is a lot like being mildly dehydrated, and that's exactly what I feel like. If I drink a LOT of water, it's alll good.

First time I was nauseated, but maybe it set in a little later than 5 weeks, I can't remember. I do remember it hitting suddenly and badly, not letting up until about 12 weeks.

I notice that I bloat very easily from eating too much of the wrong foods (fruit juice, high fat cheeses/foods) and my pants get too tight around the waist.

And oh, the problems with um...evacuation. Has anyone found a relief for that problem?

eat more fresh fruit? more water?

i think the sleep thing is very much connected to stress, not that im over-stressed but although i want this baby 200% its kind of a crazy time. but its also the perfect time, you know?

i have been doing cardio karate for the last 3 weeks twice a week ( didnt know i was pregnant!) and although i felt totally exhausted after, if felt so good to do it. i went last night and slept way better. the teacher said thats its totally okay to keep doing it as long as i feel good and to not push it. so far i think its really helped me feel healthier this pregnancy. i plan to ecercise regularily through the whole 9 months.

i also get the feeling that morning sickness didnt really kick in till after 6 weeks, so we will see..

ive been drinking this amazing tea that my sil gave me.. nourishment tea- its got oatstraw, nettle, red raspberry leaf, alfalfa, red clover, and rosehips and when i drink it i feel sooo good..!

I have been tired, but I dont know if its all the pregnancy. We are finishing up our busy season at work, so I worked 13 hours (til 11pm) last night and had to stay up til midnight the night before to run a report from home. So that is killing me. And then I gave up caffiene cold turkey yesterday, when I found out, so I have headaches from the withdrawel (I was a coffee addict). And then there is the pregnancy, but being less than 5 weeks, I wonder if that can be making me this tired already. Once my busy season is over at work, I want to start walking again at night and getting some better exercise at the gym on weekends. I hope I have the energy for it.

I have had slight, constant nausea for the past few days. I had bad morning sickness last time - threw up every day before lunch til around 16 weeks. I sense it coming on again.

The other thing is that I just cant think straight. That could be the stress/lack of sleep (see above) but I find myself struggling to solve problems at work, like I am thinking through a haze. Trying to multitask is infinitely harder than it usually is. I normally thrive on doing 5 things at once, and now I cannot even talk on the phone and do something on the computer without feeling addled and out of sorts. Weird. I dont remember this with my first pregnancy.

Oh and i have had lots of low cramps that come and go.

It's gonna be a fun 9 months! :LOL

BensMom,

If it makes you feel any better at all, I also kicked coffee cold turkey (2x a day, medium sized cups - more than 8 oz) last week once I found out I was pregnant. It is really hard. I felt extremely tired for about 2 days afterwards, got some achy pains and headaches, and felt super grouchy!

I did use white tea to help transition, and now I'm down to a half-cup of white tea in the morning with milk or soymilk. I don't think that it's the end of the world, and white tea has a lot of really great things in it...

Edit: Also, going for a walk or doing yoga really helped with transitioning off it and finding a new source of energy. I don't know if you have time, but...
