For those of you who suffer from eczema or have children with this condition, be sure to read this link. Apparently, studies have linked Elidel and Protopic with increased cancer risk.

Oh how I hate eczema!!!!!!!

I know. I am not only freaked but scared because Protopic was the ONLY thing that controlled dd's RAGING excema. She has been on it for months.

Plus, I see here that someone else knew about this back in February so now I am wondering why my ped didn't stop me.

Ugh. We've used it, but not much or lately. That's a dud.

Thanks for the link! My hubby just read about this recently. Our daughter has horrible excema on her legs and arms and we've been using elidel for almost a year. It is now in the trash.
If anyone knows of any natural remedies that have worked very well I'd love some suggestions! I know Burts Bees baby buttermilk lotion helps. Also, strangely the Burts Beets under-eye carrot cream. My MIL had some and my 2 year old 'got into' it and rubbed it all over herself and it made a huge difference the next morning. Great quick fixes, but I'd love to find something more permanent.

I know-it's horrible!!! We haven't used either-but it still worries the crap out of me!

OMG ! We've used it a lot, including on ds' genital area (per dr's instructions). I had a bad feeling about that stuff. Next time I'm trusting my instincts, but I'm terrified of what damage I could have done already!!!!

WOW! I have a prescription sitting on my counter waiting to be filled for Elidel. My dd's eckzema is under control though we haven't used it....We just use Gentle Naturals eckzema cream and trader joes herbal unscented moisture cream. I am so thankful for all the mama's on here who continuously look out for one another, now I wont be filling that script.

I don't have a prescription for it, mine's not that bad, thank goodness. But, I am looking for other natural remedies for eczema if you would like to share. I

What really worries me is how we will control it... I mean, I am worried about having used it since September but looking ahead I just don't know. Plus, the nurse at her ped's advice was "put lotion on her." Gee, thanks a pantload, that never occured to me as I struggled for months before caving to the Protopic.

My dd used Elidel for quite a long time and then moved to Protopic. We have at least 4 years of use off and on. It just figures

What's really scary for me is that my 8 yo dd has recently begun to tell me she is afraid of getting cancer.
