Announcing the arrival of Ellery Maeve!
7 lbs, 10 oz.
20.5 in
3/9/05 - 5:15 p.m.

Birth Story
Pictures

After an intense and life-changing 1.5 hours of contractions, Ellery was born in the bathtub into her daddy's hands with her sister watching. The midwives arrived about five minutes later!

We're all healthy, nursing well (though not sleeping) and so, so happy. Praise God for an empowering birth and a healthy baby!

Ha! It actually wasn't. Things just went too fast for anything to have been different--the troops all arrived after Ellery made her grand entrance (midwives, mother-in-law for childcare, my sisters to assist, etc). But things went so well that I'd consider a UC next time!

Birth story pending. Pictures, too, if I can get the durn camera to upload!

The only side effect from such an intense labor is Ellery's cephalohematoma. The poor gal's got a huge lump on one side of her head, and it seems tender (she reacts when we touch it ).

I'm enjoying my babymoon--husband is home until Thursday! Thanks for all the well wishes!

Well, you may have not choice but an U/C next time either- if they say babies come faster the more you have- you are looking at a 30 min birth!

Hope your girl feels better soon. I am sure she is getting lots of mama love!
