Confusion on accreditation

Thread Starter
The pre-k through 8th grade Montessori school we are looking into signing our 11 year old up for is NOT AMI or AMS accredited. From what I've read here, it isn't necessarily a bad thing to not have those three little letters. BUT, this school IS accredited by something called the North Central Accreditation Association and CITA (The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation). Anyone ever heard of those? What exactly does that mean? Does it have anything to do with Montessori accreditation?

take this question to montessori_online
a yahoo discussion group

Time Seldin is the list owner and he will know.
It doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard in the montessori world.

MACTE Montessori Acreditation Council of Teacher Educators
is the umbrella acrditation to look for.
