Anyone Have A Poochie Belly Yet?

I've got that poochie belly thing going on. Does anyone know why this happens? I know that it is not the baby because the uterus is still low at this point. I'm 9 weeks.

I have since 4wks!

It's mostly from being bloated.

Glad I'm not the only one!! I have a little pooch above the waist of my jeans. What's up with that?! It's like everything I eat is immediately being converted to a "spare tire" around my middle!! I guess my metabolism is just shifting a bit with pregnancy. I really hoped to be able to leave the maternity clothes in the attic for another month or so, but...

I'm positive that mine is not from eating, because I can BARELY eat. And even if I DO eat, I usually end up hurling. So yeah. I don't know what it is. Bloating maybe...

when you get pregnant and your uterus expands your organs have to go somewhere!

I have a very short torso, very long legged. That means the only way for me to expand is out straight in the front. I have no room in my torso for my organs to just shift around to make room for the uterus. My organs go up under my ribcage, and the baby goes straight out.

Women who are longwaisted have an easier time keeping a flat tummy when not pregnant and instead get saddlebags. Shortwaisted women have round tummies and an extra shelfy thing above their butt (hip pads), but have nice long pretty legs with no saddlebags. Maybe some inner thigh fat, depends.

There are those who are a combination!

The whole :"youre carrying out front, so it must be a boy" thing just cracks me up. You carry based on your body type, not on what gender you have. I carry way low and out front. From behind, you cant even tell Im pregnant when Im full term, then I turn to the side and hear gasps of horror!

looks like I'm not the only one. this is my second pg, and I am short waisted. all arms and legs here.

Another short-waisted long-legged mommy here. And I already had a pooch left from my first pregnancy with ds . So I have quite a pooch!

I've read that it is actually our bowels that are being distended and that is what is showing. Not a very romantic picture, it is? :LOL

And I just decided last night that I am "filling in". This is the earliest ever for me at 10 weeks, however this is my fourth baby! At the begining its not cute on me, just "full" looking. (at leat thats how I feel!)

Jeni -- you sound like a T-Tapper!

I'm a combo with slight long torso tendencies. My belly is pooching out already (~11 weeks). This is not good because I want to keep it a secret at work for at least another month. I'm hoping people are thinking I'm just gaining more weight (put on a bit after starting eating Naturally Thin last August).

I'm feeling the same way - very "poochy". I realized last night that I can no longer see my feet! I'm only 10 weeks - and if my scale is any indication, I've been gaining no weight yet. Yet my jeans simply do not fit any longer. Ugh!

I too had wanted to wait to tell my boss for another month. I don't think I have any weight gain look in my face, unfortunately, and am hoping no one's noticing that my jeans are unbuttoned.

Are the rest of you poochy mamas noticing weight changes??

I've gotten noticeably poochy in the last few days (I'm 8 weeks), but have actually lost five pounds so far. Go figure.

Jeni -- I thought that was you. I'm Jess (smack). :LOL

I think I'm ready to try MORE again . . .

I checked my weight gain at MILs Sunday (my scale broke last year) and found out that my gain is already around 10 pounds, probably a little more. Kind of crazy considering the fact that half the food that sounds good looks gross, and vice-versa.

My pooch is cute. I love it. Everyone knows i'm pregnant, well mostly everyone. i'm ready to be really showing but I know it'll happen soon enough.

Things are starting to shift a bit here, lol. I can still wear my jeans, and i haven't gained any weight according to the scale, but things are sticking out a little more, and behind the "squishy" part of my tummy, things are feeling really solid.

I've noticed that my belly is pretty solid as well...and feels weird if you poke it :LOL

Well, I still have a poochie belly from my first, but things are starting to move around in there, and it is a bit firmer now behind the pooch! I can't suck it all in anymore.
