12 yo can't find ANYTHING! - Page 2

My 10 year old, and DH are like this. I have been thinking of trying a game I read in a magazine. You take index cards and write things like "the plastic wrap is kept ___" "trash goes out on what day?" "how much does a video cost?" "how do you do a load of laundery" and the like (with the ansewers). Stuff you think they shopuld know...At dinner (or after) you go around the table and each person picks up a card and asks the question to the person on their right. Each correct ansewer is worth x points. The winner gets to pick (from your choices) what desert is (or an activity, etc). you can also throw in bonus questions like "1 pt for every vegtable you can name in 10 seconds). You can even let everyone write questions.

This is ME!

Oh, I was JUST like this as a kid!!!!! (So, obviously, it's not just a male thing.) My mom would send me to find something (in the fridge, in the downstairs pantry, in her room, whatever) and I would try and try and try but for the life of me I couldn't find it. I really, really tried because she would get so angry when I couldn't find it. I remember perfectly that feeling of utter panic when I wouldn't be able to find, say, the green beans. Then, of course, she would find it in two seconds and I could offer absolutely NO explanation for why.

My dd (9) is the SAME way. You'd think I would be more understanding when it happens to her but I still get irritated. ("It's RIGHT THERE!)
