Silk liners?

I was thinking of recycling some silk shirts I have into soaker tops. I haven't seen anyone do this, does anyone know why? I know it doesn't have the same health benefits as raw silk, but it must feel at least as nice as fleece or velour... thoughts?

I recycled some silk shirts as diaper liners. The smooth woven kind got very sticky when wet and stuck to dd 's bum crack (ugh!). I had much better luck with the thin knitted sweater/t-shirt kind of silk. I got mine at Salvation army for $2 and it made a bunch. Try to get natural because the colors run.
