I wonder who the offended parties are? Was it voiced or were they too offended to speak directly to particular threads/posters?

A lot of things and attitudes offend me so I don't visit those forums or threads. I mean, seriously, I get really offended by pedestals and high horses... so I just :

Well, I have to say that this is HUGELY disappointing to me. I have always enjoyed MANY of the forums here, and TAO is a place to just that, "TALK AMONGST OURSELVES". I'm not advocating unmoderation, or violating the user agreement, but I have seen many things lately that have been moved unneccesarily, IMO. I think that either the user agreement should change, because it seems that this place is getting VERY controlling. Or the "offending parties" (and I mean from the MODs point of view, because I certainly was not offended), should go start their own forum. And then PM me here when you do.

I have about had it with all this foolishness. I'm sick with the flu, so this is my last post for a few days. I won't be replying.

I'm very sad to see it come to this, and I hope it can be resolved without a lot of blows. But this is just ridiculous!

Gee, I get offended on pretty much a daily basis on some of the stuff here (and it never has any sexuality or cursing) but I don't go complaining about it. I just oull them off their high horse like tricia told me to do.

so I don't want to stir the turd any more. But this is MHO: over the last weeks, the powers-that-be have not been very good at choosing their battles. It's a shame that battling is involved, but that's the climate lately. Anyway, some very insignificant-seeming issues have really blown up and been turned into real ordeals for eveybody. I feel sorry for the mods who feel like their time is being wasted by silliness, but a lot of the controversy seems to center around threads that are benign and playful. It seems like a power-struggle is tailspinning out of control, and a real us-against-them attitude has developed, on both sides. It's a shame.

FYI, I believe that most mods don't visit the Q and S forum because they are busy reading and reviewing threads in their own forums, to uphold the user agreement.

Y'all do know that mods are volunteers, taking time away from their family and home to help maintain this forum for the NFL community? You know this is a private forum that you are permitted to post on as guests of Mothering?

I love helping this place be a source of support and help for other mamas who might not be as lucky as I am to have a real-life mamas group. However, I feel resentful when members post without regard to the the community rules and guildelines. I'm seeing a lot of really subversive posting! Arent' we a community? Posting against the UA makes work for me and my mod sisters, instead of contributing to the community with love and support.

What are we doing here if not creating a loving supportive place to talk about parenting with like-minded mamas? Guidelines are in place to make this place run smoothly, not to give us alternative mamas something else to rebel against!!

Gee,I thought what we were doingw as trying to figure out exactly(no guessing, no innueando)what is bothering them or expected and even on the other threads offering suggestions on how to make things work.

yall may hate this

but i think whoever it is running mdc and making all these "rules" has a bush complex. cuz i am so reminded of our president and how he "runs" this country when i come here and see the fun threads closed. i think it's highly controlling and the person in charge of this forum shouldn't be so un-mdc.
