Why can't I post in TAO? - Page 4

Ard and AM.....I am sorry mamas!!!

You are right!!!

Char....no rose colored glasses. Angelo is nursing and the puppy is nipping at my feet. When I was reading, I thought she was looking for input based on some of the wording and the option 1, 2, or 3. As you can see, my attention was a little divided.

Oh if it were so, that input was specifically requested concerning these and other pressing board issues.

nak excuse my spelling!

This similar situation happened a few years ago, mama's wanting to post about sex, the board mod's saying no, us posters saying why not we are all adults and sex got us to be mama's, etc. There was also discussion about a password only forum. It tuned into a us vs them cencership issue, "them" saying it is their boards they can do what they want, "us" saying freedom of speech blah blah blah. What ended up happening was a split in the community, a lot of good peeps went and formed their own community on a private board, and at almost the same time, this forum was taken down for "server maintaince" or something like that. It was down for weeks. That was the "big crash" that us old folks talk about. It's always been odd to me that it happened exactly when there was such a battle going on. Personally I think it was a cooling off period that was intended but that's just my opinion. It's werid how history repeats itself here...

I think that the fact that so many wonderful Mamas were unsure - UNSURE - if they had done something wrong goes a very long way to show that there is a problem on this board and the Mods need to see something!

TB - after having read "Fast Food Nation" and seen "Super Size Me", my dietary recommendation is to avoid Taco Bell, coke, pepsi, Burger King, etc. at all costs for your health and well being!!!

( I'll send you some bagels )

OH I could totally tell you what I think...but then...I'd be subject to the usual: y'know...I imagine there will/would be some very measured and carefully-worded PM in my box (OOPS I didn't mean it THAT way!) from the administratrix defending the indefensible (once more) and a notice of my suspension or banning, for all I know. It wouldn't surprise me...and the hurt tone if I dare to question administrative decisions *gasp* in a public thread (instead of *shhhh* privately, so the "kids" don't hear us argue).

I have NO problem with rules and user agreements. NONE. Period. NEVER had a problem in any forum of which I have been a member not EVER...except here... and mostly I have issues with what happens to others or what others say, and I get into trouble speaking my mind about that.

I also have issues with what appears, repeatedly, to be thinly-veiled (you should pardon the expression) acts of power and control, in the guise of some cockamamey "family-friendly" malarkey, to keep safely-in-control of content for reasons I can only speculate upon. (shhh...can you say, "censorship in an ultra-conservative country"?) You know, the iron fist in the velvet glove treatment.

See....

Otherwise, this all seems so elaborately bogus. You are spinnin' your wheels trying to get TAO opened unless you all promise to be good. And that is that. NO adult space. (I hope I have to eat my words...I really do)

On another note:
It's sad to see how many sexually insecure people are *gasp* horrified(!) and shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU...by reading playful flirtation between mommas here and the very, very creative and clever, subtle or not-so-subtle double-entendres! I think of it is an art, actually, rather than "icky" or "obscene" or "How dare they!?".

What's more revealing is that folks (apparently) read those flirt threads when they can just skip over 'em, y'know... if they read the first couple posts that are flirtatious and it turns 'em off, right?

...But NoooooOOOOOOooooo!- they keep readin'...apparently....and they must spend alot of time thinking about it all...how...how....disturbing that must be...y'know? NO? (I don't get it either....must be discomfort about latent tendencies...or issues....or repressions...er somethin'...glad it ain't me suffering like that!).

And I am SO GLAD to know that it's profanity even if it was substituting other words for profanity. What the "heck"? (OOPS! ) Do they sit there and say to themselves: "Well, let's see.... "feckin'" or "frickin'" or "dang" is a word substituted for YOU KNOW WHAAAAAAT!!!!!...and get all freaked out? (I wonder if "crap" and "darn" bothers 'em too?! I mean I can make up words to substitute but will THEY know I mean YOU KNOW WHAAAAAT!!!! )

Well, there! Do all these issues look silly enough now? Really, I think that Michael Powell, soon-to-be former head of the FCC would be proud of the censorship practiced here.

Joyce in the mts.
