Happy Birthday Raina!
I'm with you Dana... as far as I know I'm not having a shower and I'm glad of cause I don't like to be the center of attention. I told my mother in law this and she said "But it's your first baby you have to have a shower!" Heh, no I don't; )
I know you didn't ask for opinions Emmy but I have to share mine anyways
I like Avery the best. I also like the other names ppl have picked out... I think Sophia is very pretty and I like Rhiannon as well. Astrid is cool! Jersey, I like the sounds of, but it's got a lot of connotations that I dunno if you'd like... sports jersies, NJ, Jersey cows....
SharonAnne I feel the same about losing my figure.. I chalked it up to vanity as well as being young (I'm 20... will be 21 when baby comes. Hopefully!! My bd is May 8...) and have had a lot of self esteem issues about my looks to begin with! Sarah hit it right on the head, I think, about all the messages we get about looks, and about pregnancy being such a big change.
However, about stretch marks being genetic - my mom did not get them on her belly in any of her 6 pregnancies. My older sister got them pretty badly. And I got them too, though not quite so bad... yet at least. Looks like we might be exceptions to that idea rather than the rule... *shrug*
Does anyone else's belly pulse? If I'm laying down looking at my belly I can see it do little jumps with my heartbeat. I guess cause there's more blood being pumped there? Does the placenta itself do any pumping or is it just my heart and baby's?
29 weeks today. It's getting hard to put on and take off pants and shoes and socks... DH looks at me like I'm crazy when I undress because of all the gymnastics
I tell him I'd like to see him do any better with thirty pounds in between him and his feet!!
Last night I got up to pee TWICE. I can't remember the last time that happened, if it ever did! I also had a horrible dream... me and DH were driving home from town, and once we reach the woodsy area we see that there's been a big forest fire.. continue on and still see the burnt stuff, trees and houses all shells, worrying about whether the fire reached our place... we never make it to our house cause we meet up with my inlaws who tell us that the fire did in fact get to our houses and I cried and asked if it was all gone, and they said parts of the houses were ok, and I cry some more and then ask about the front bedroom, which is where ALLLLL of our baby stuff and clothes are, in wooden cupboards no less, and fil tells me that bedroom is all gone. I woke up crying. It was very distressing.
