What does heartburn feel like?

I always thought heartburn was the sharp shooting pain that kind of hits under your lower left rib. I have had that before. But what I have been feeling today (and maybe this weekend) is this dull ache that is right smack in the middle of my chest. Like right under my sternum. And sometimes it hurts in the same spot in my back. It's a dull achy feeling. Is that heartburn? I did not have anything like this with DS. It's been wearing me down all day today.

Any advice?

I'm a native Georgian although I'm living outside of Seattle at the moment. I'm also a Jennifer, lol!
At any rate, that doesn't sound like what my heartburn feels like. To me, heartburn feels like lava around and above my heart. It's usually in conjunction with acid reflux with feels like lava in my throat. I'm not saying you don't have heartburn, just that it sounds very different from mine.
