Recycled Sweater Pattern and Training Pants Pattern?

I want to get two get patterns and I'd love any suggestions you might have. I was thinking of Piquito Pants or Darling Diapers for the Training Pants and Fern and Fairie's Bum Fuzzy for the recycled sweater.. any thoughts on those or suggestions for others?

Hi Jenn! If you're wanting a recycled sweater pattern for a soaker, the most common one i've seen floating is from borntolove.com maybe the link will work
http://www.borntolove.com/frugal-column2.html

Did that thread work at all?? Just curious!!

Wow that's pretty crude but it is free! Perhaps when I catch up a little more I'll give it a try. Thank you!

As for the thread, I told myself when I heard how sick you were that I wouldn't open the package until I picked up some Lysol Disinfecting Spray (I just got over the flu that lasted two weeks and really slowed me down) so I haven't even opened it yet. I'm on my last spool of white and blue so I definitely need to go to the store by the end of the week and get that spray!

I really can't thank you enough again, I've made 4 diapers in the past 5 days and had even more requests come in.. it will definitely be used!

To be honest, In my newbie sewing world, crude is passable!! I have seen others, but they look so complicated. I figure I need to start with something easy since I don't know how to knit. And FWIW, the thread was sequestered in a plastic bag in our front room/sewing room. Dd and Dh never go in there and I fortunately only had a super mild case and was over it in about 5 hrs. So I don't think the thread is a hazard to your health!! :LOL :LOL

I made a few like that and they were super easy and worked just fine. Especially the cashmere one - mmmmmm. It held the pee in overnight, which was a good thing since it was my first wool experience.

Training pants - I wish. But I will keep lurking since I know EVENTUALLY I will need them....

Here's the one that I'm going to use when I get my machine working again:

It looks pretty much the same as the others, but the triangle isn't equal-sided.

Lise, do I need to worry about the whole thing unraveling while I sew? I just picture it poof-ing into one big pile of threads when I cut it up. :LOL

Well I got over my fears yesterday and opened it up - I pm'd you but it's so wonderful and perfect, especially the white! Thank you so much for sending 4500 yards of thread! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Lise - I'll be keeping my eye out for cashmere!

I've actually got one of the soakers from my first post, and even though the pattern looks crude, it actually turns out great! I got mine off a sweet mama who made an extra. It fits my dd better than an aristocrat!!
