Expressing anger/ need advice!

Well, I'm stepping into the gentle discipline game a little late. I've got 3 boys, ages 12, 11, and 9, and a 6 year old girl. I am aknowledging that the way I've been handling things thus far isn't working out the way I had hoped. Name calling and general meaness to one another has really gotten out of control with the children. I'm the type of person that always just bottles anger up inside and I'm working on that issue but that's a seperate topic. What I'm looking for are ways to teach my kids how to properly express anger at each other or anyone else without lashing out.

I'm sure I'll get lots of great advice here. Thanks everybody

Hi

I am sure you will get some great input. There is a suggested book list in a sticky at the top of the forum. You will find some great resources there.

The book How to Talk So Kids Will Listen would be a good place to start. There is also a How to Talk ... class audiotape series that your public library might have. This is something you could do on your own or get a group of your friends together, church group, ect. It's not too late!
