Candles

Anyone successfully use candle ends/puddles in making new candles? I've got a bagful of ends and such but I've never mixed candles from different places to make new. Is wax is wax is wax? Or do I need to be more discerning about it?

You can blend waxes. In fact, I frequently see candles for sale commercially that are a blend of beeswax and petroleum wax. Of course, if your candle bits are all different colors, you might end up with mud colored candles I don't know how well it would work if you, say, layered different qualities of wax.

Well, mud colored candles would be just fine for the emergency cabinet, right?

I don't think my candle making skills are up to layering. And, since my taste in commercial candles runs to darker colors I think mud just might be the order of the day.

Thanks!
