OK I may be too brave, but here's my plan. I want a nice Hemp shower curtain. The one I'd like is $75. I'm getting a sewing machine on Saturday and thinking to myself "it can't be too hard" am I nuts? I've sewn a few things. Nothing recent. I'd need a good source for patterns and a good source for nice hemp. The co-op I belong to is on hiatus due to a pregnancy. Any recomendations?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I made one out of a flat sheet, and it wasn't that hard. I'm willing to bet there is a website somewhere that will do all the math for you as well (depending on the width of your fabric you may have to seam).
I made buttonholes at the top with my sewing machine rather than having to buy a grommet tool. It worked fine.
This was, of course, an outer decorative shower curtain, but the same principles would apply if you're making one to go on the inside. I'd recommend sewing some magnets in the bottom to help it stay in place (like commercial shower liners have).

Me too I want a hemp shower curtain. I love the one at Abundant Earth but it's $75 as well. but I think sewing one up would be super easy basically just seam all the sides and put button holes at the top! would be a lot cheaper that way too. Post a pic when your done!!!~
