We are having a lot of problems with her right now - attitude, chores, etc. BUT, I have to keep remembering how wonderful she really is. The latest: She is in a camp for the week (March break) and has made friends with a boy there. He is 12, and she commented to me that his hand was bent oddly. I asked her if she had asked him why, and she was appalled. She said that she wouldn't ask that as it might hurt his feelings, and if he wanted to talk about it, he would tell her. I saw the boy yesterday, and there is a lot more "wrong" with him than a bent hand, but she is so oblivious/accepting/empathetic to it.
She consistently stands up for her friend that gets bullied and picked on at school. She refuses to join in any teasing that goes on. She is so accepting and loving to our foster kids.
And we bitch about a messy room.
